Event noticeboards and town criers promote the event in various locations, and Spencer in the Burthorpe event area. The event interface, found in the Community interface, can be used for an overview of the event and free teleports to Christmas Village.

Christmas Village

[edit | edit source]
The Christmas Village

The Christmas Village is a seasonal hub located within the Land of Snow. It can be accessed through several ways, including with the Christmas Village portal in the Burthorpe event area or a seasonal addition to the Lodestone Network. It contains seasonal activities players can repeat; each one rewards players with Christmas spirit, a currency that can be spent at the Christmas Spirit Shop.

Group Ironmen (Ranked) and Competitive Group Ironmen are unable to receive experience from skilling in the Christmas Village.

Activities

Decoration making

[edit | edit source]

After completing the It's Snow Bother quest, Construction experience may be earned by creating decorations at the decoration bench. Unfinished decorations can be taken from the crate of unfinished decorations south of the bench and finished decorations can be deposited at the crate of finished decorations on the table south-west of the bench.

Creating decorations at the decoration bench first changes an unfinished decoration into a work-in-progress decoration, and yields 1 point of progress out of 50 every 5 ticks (3 seconds), which gives 1 Christmas spirit and up to 45.5 Construction experience depending on player's Construction level. Progress is gained continuously without needing any player input until the decoration becomes a finished decoration. A new work-in-progress decoration can be then started at the decoration bench, which with moderate efficiency takes 1 tick (0.6 seconds) extra time. Depositing the finished decorations awards 100 further Christmas spirit per decoration, taking 7 ticks (4.2 seconds) with moderate efficiency. As many unfinished decorations as can fit in the player's backpack can be taken at once with the "take all" option.

Each decoration takes 2.5 minutes of continuous progress at the decoration bench to create, rewarding a total of up to 2,275 experience.

The following table outlines the steps required for one decoration.

Step Facility Instruction Christmas spirit Construction experience
1 Crate of unfinished decorations Take the unfinished decorations (1/interaction) N/A N/A
2 Decoration bench Work on work-in-progress decoration, requiring 50 progress 50 (1/increment) Up to 2,275 (up to 45.5/increment)
3 Crate of finished decorations Deposit the finished decorations 100 N/A
N/A N/A Cumulative per completed decoration 150 Up to 2,275 (up to 45.5/increment)

The following table lists some average statistics for using this activity, assuming 28 decorations being deposited at once and moderate efficiency in taking, starting creating, and depositing the decorations at level 99 Construction.

Fir chopping

[edit | edit source]

Players can find firs around the village that they can chop down for 2 Christmas spirit and Woodcutting experience (scaling with the player's level in Woodcutting, up to 50.6 per set of logs at level 110 Woodcutting) per set of logs. The resulting fir logs can then be taken to the nearby log splitting stump and split for 2 more Christmas spirit and more experience (up to 101.2 per set of split fir logs at level 110 Woodcutting) each. Finally, players can deposit the split fir logs into the split log stockpile for a final burst of Christmas spirit, yielding 6 Christmas spirit per set of split fir logs deposited.

Most of the firs can be found near the log splitting stump.

A set of fir logs is obtained every 3 ticks (1.8 seconds) with approximately 22% chance, and a tree has an approximately 8% chance to fall whenever this happens. Splitting the logs takes 5 ticks (3 seconds) each. Moving between the trees after they fall can be done in 3 ticks (1.8 seconds), and moving to the log splitting stump, depositing the logs at the split log stockpile, and moving back to the nearest firs takes 18 ticks (10.8 seconds) with moderate efficiency. Assuming that the player processes a full backpack of fir logs at once at level 110 Woodcutting, the following table presents some average statistics for using this activity.

The Woodcutting experience earned from chopping firs is 1 for levels 1–2, and for levels 3–110 it is equal to the player's Woodcutting level (L below) multiplied by 0.46 and rounded down to the nearest tenth. This can be represented by the formula:

XPchop=max(1,4.6×L10)

Splitting the logs awards experience in a similar manner, but the multipler is doubled to 0.92. This can be represented by the formula:

Hot chocolate brewing

[edit | edit source]

After completing the quest A Christmas Reunion, players can assist Aoife with the hot chocolate pot which grants Christmas spirit and Cooking experience scaled to player's Cooking level.

While assisting Aoife with the hot chocolate pot, 2 Christmas spirit and Cooking experience is gained every 7 ticks (4.2 seconds), with experience gained ranging from 1 at level 1 to 22.7 at level 99. Every 70 ticks (42 seconds) Aoife will call out for chocolate chunks, firewood, milk, spices, or sugar to be added to the pot, which can be taken from the respective scenery objects around the kitchen. Assisting Aoife with the hot chocolate pot with the correct ingredient or firewood awards additional 25 Christmas spirit and up to 227.7 Cooking experience.

This activity does not fill cooking urns.

The following table outlines different actions related to this activity and rewards from them.

Action Christmas spirit Cooking experience
Passive interaction 2/action Up to 22.7/action
Adding ingredients or firewood 25 Up to 227.7

Aiofe may ask for one of the following:

Hungry reindeer

[edit | edit source]

A hungry reindeer is found south-west of Diango's Workshop. It can be fed 25 pieces of unnoted Christmas food per day for 20 Christmas spirit per piece and a chance to obtain the Rudi reindeer pet item. After feeding, it turns into a well fed reindeer. More Christmas food, both unnoted and noted, and unlimited in amount, can be added to the food through nearby for 1 Christmas spirit per 5 pieces for more chances to obtain Rudi.

Ice fishing

[edit | edit source]
Ice fishing area

Fishing experience may be earned by catching frozen trout, salmon, and bass at the icy fishing spot, which can be deposited at the nearby barrels of fish.

Players have a chance to receive a fish every 4 ticks (2.4 seconds), and which fish is received, or no fish at all, is random, with approximately 50% chance of success. 1 Christmas spirit is awarded every time a fish is caught, and depositing the frozen trout, salmon, or bass awards 2, 4, or 8 Christmas spirit respectively. The experience gained for each fish caught scales by the player's Fishing level, up to 57.4 experience at level 99.

Dwarven fish extractor, fury shark outfit, and waterfiend familiar work for doubling fish. Augmented fishing tools gain item experience when used for this activity. This activity also fills fishing urns.

It is possible to earn the Bubbles pet from skilling at this station.

Using the southern barrel of fish, it is possible to not waste any time depositing the fish. The following table lists some approximated average statistics for using this activity with different methods, assuming no time being wasted when disposing fish at level 99 Fishing and no boosts being used.

Present delivery

[edit | edit source]

After completing It's Snow Bother, players can deliver one present a day to its recipient with Santa's sack for 200 Christmas spirit.

Snow impling catching

[edit | edit source]

Snow implings in the Christmas Village and around Gielinor can be caught for 10 Hunter experience, some festive-themed food or coal, and 100 Christmas spirit each.

Snowball creation

[edit | edit source]

Fletching experience may be earned by creating snowballs at the pile of snow. Smokey the coal will appear at random times while creating snowballs and can be pelted with three equipped snowballs to fully cool him, yielding extra Christmas spirit at cost of some experience.

A snowball is created every three game ticks (1.8 seconds), which awards one Christmas spirit and 1–25.3 Fletching experience scaled to the player's Fletching level. The created snowballs are stackable and can be wielded, but newly created snowballs will always go to the player's backpack. Snowballs can be disassembled for Invention materials.

Smokey the coal will appear on average approximately once in three minutes, yielding 75 Christmas spirit if cooled down successfully with snowballs. Cooling him down can be done in about 3.6 seconds with moderate efficiency. Failing to cool him down in 18 seconds causes him to cool down on his own without rewarding Christmas spirit.

It is possible to earn the Flo pet from this activity.

The following table lists some average statistics for using this activity with different methods, assuming moderate efficiency at level 110 Fletching.

Christmas Spirit Shop

[edit | edit source]

The Christmas Spirit Shop is a time-limited shop run by Holly at the Christmas Village that sells cosmetics from the 2024 and 2023 Christmas events, as well as cosmetics over the years.

Mystery gift

[edit | edit source]

Mystery gifts are items that can be bought from the Christmas Spirit Shop. They can be opened for rewards, destroying the gifts in the process.

Secret Santa gift exchange

[edit | edit source]

Players may give and receive gifts in a Secret Santa fashion by interacting with Not-So-Secret-Santa near the giant present west of the bank chest. Additionally, players may receive one medium prismatic lamp each day by donating items with a cumulative total of 100,000 coins or more. Donating at least 100,000 coins worth of items (or coins themselves) at once on 15 different days during the event will reward the The Secret Santa title. Donating at least 200 million coins at once will unlock The Top Secret Santa title.

Giant present

[edit | edit source]

The giant present is located near Not-So-Secret-Santa in the southern part of the Christmas Village. Players can click it to obtain a special gift on or after Christmas Day, 25 December 2024, until 6 January 2025.

A sled is located at the eastern end of the frozen lake in the southern part of the Christmas Village. Interacting with it gives the player a wieldable sled they can ride around on in the village.

Santa's lodge

[edit | edit source]
Santa's lodge
Santa has departed for the final time this year.

At the north end of the village (where Clementine can be found) sits Santa's lodge—a cabin with Christmas decorations—and Pile of Santa's Presents, a sleigh filled with presents. Every week during the event, except 5 January 2025, Santa Claus will be in the lodge from 20:00 to 22:00 game time on Sunday evenings.

For thirty minutes prior to Santa's arrival, from 19:30 to 20:00 game time, Dolph, Felix, and Ru appear in the front of the lodge. Felix appears every 5 minutes, until 19:55, and throws out some white and blue Christmas Presents onto the ground for players to pick up and blue Christmas Presents directly at each player in the area. Dolph announces time until Santa Claus' arrival, and Ru until the next present drop.

Buddy, coal store, and snowman also appear with the rest of the snow imps, and can be used to transmogrify the players into various variants of snow imps, lumps of coal, and snowmen, respectively. They remain until Santa Claus departs.

Letters to Santa

[edit | edit source]

Players could collect three letters to Santa daily until the end of 29 December 2024 by:

Missed or destroyed daily letters can be bought in the Christmas Spirit Shop for 400 Christmas spirit each.

Nice Points

[edit | edit source]

Posting the letters to Santa at the Wintumber Postbox (next to Clementine) will earn the player Nice Points which reward winter cosmetics each week as well as granting a small chance to be rewarded a black partyhat.[1] A Nice Point is given for every three letters posted. Each letter posted also yields either a blue or a purple Christmas Present.

Each week players only need to earn 1 Nice Point to be in the draw, but for every additional point they have earned that week, the chance to receive a black partyhat is increased. Players can obtain enough letters to gain a maximum of seven Nice Points per week.

Weekly gifts from Santa

[edit | edit source]

Upon Santa's arrival, players who earned a Nice Point will be able to enter his lodge and collect their weekly gift. The weekly gifts are:

On 5 January 2025, the announcements were made as if Santa would be visiting, but he didn't make an appearance.

If players are unable to attend the lodge when Santa has arrived, they will find their gift in the pile of Santa's Presents just outside the lodge. The black partyhat can be won from the presents.

Nice list

[edit | edit source]

When Santa Claus arrives at Santa's lodge, anyone on the "nice list" (players who have earned at least one Nice Point) will receive gifts—one of which could be a black partyhat, an ultra rare tradeable item. Winners of the hat can either be from a present when Santa arrives or by taking a present from the sleigh. The winner will set off a celebratory set of fireworks at the lodge and an anonymous broadcast that a black partyhat dropped on that world.

Seasonal quests

[edit | edit source]

It's Snow Bother

[edit | edit source]

It's Snow Bother is a seasonal quest released in 2023 that returns each year at Christmas. It does not award quest points, but will award winter themed cosmetics, access to a daily present delivery activity, and access to the decoration making activity in the Christmas Village.

A Christmas Reunion

[edit | edit source]

A Christmas Reunion is a new seasonal quest. It does not award quest points, but will awards the Diango's Little Helper title, the Hot Chocolate Rest animation, and access to some of the skilling activities in Diango's Workshop.

Rewards

[edit | edit source]

Presents from the Imps

[edit | edit source]

Noel the snow imp, located near Santa's lodge, requires assistance gathering Christmas wrapping paper. Christmas wrapping paper could be obtained from various sources until the end of 5 January 2025. Every 200 paper could be exchanged for one of the following random presents until the end of 5 January 2025.

Christmas wrapping paper booster will occasionally drop during the event. These items will give you an additional 10–100 wrapping papers per drop.

Additionally, Double Wrapping Paper can be unlocked with one bond, offering an extra boost of wrapping paper.

Treasure Hunter

[edit | edit source]

From 2 December 2024 to the end of 5 January 2025, every prize claimed from Treasure Hunter using keys yields 100 Christmas wrapping paper in addition to the usual prizes.

Furthermore, a Present Prize Meter is added to the bottom of the Treasure Hunter interface. It contains links to open the Advent Calendar interface and event interface, and tracks progress towards prizes. The meter fills by a point with every key used, and yields extra prizes at certain thresholds. When claiming the final prize at 200 keys, the meter resets. The meter retains its state between promotions during the event. The prizes from the Present Prize Meter are the following:

Rudi pet

[edit | edit source]

Additionaly, an unlimited number of noted or unnoted Christmas food items can be put in the food trough.

Other rewards

[edit | edit source]

Logging in during the event automatically unlocks the Hot Chocolate, Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows, Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows (steaming), and Pink Santa Hat overhead emotes.

Decorations

[edit | edit source]

Christmas decorations were added to Falador, Lumbridge, and Varrock at the beginning of 1 December. Similar decorations were added to Grand Exchange in Varrock and Max Guild at the start of the event, and snow started falling in the rest of Prifddinas. At the start of the event, most oaks, regular trees, and the corresponding tree stumps became decorated with snow and presents, and various monsters received Santa hats and other decorations. Zemouregal's cell in Fort Forinthry Prison also featured a Christmas tree.

List of monsters with Santa hats and other decorations

Of the monsters, the abnormal imbued spider, The Ambassador, Crassian Leviathan, false bladed araxyte, The Gate of Elidinis, imitation spitting spider, Kezalam, the Wanderer, Nakatra, Devourer Eternal, Osseous, Taraket the Necromancer, Vermyx, Brood Mother, Vorkath, and Zemouregal are new additions from the previous year.

Some goebies, including players transmogrified into them, the ancient carer, the goebie scout, the goebie prisoners, goebie in Nemi Forest, and the goebie used to start the Beastmaster Durzag encounter were wearing Santa hats during the event, although these didn't show with their chatheads.

In addition to Solak receiving decorations, the corresponding variants of the monster were renamed "Snowlak" and "Snowlak (Withering)". Unlike last year, "Snowlak's left arm", "Snowlak's right arm", "Snowlak's left leg", "Snowlak's right leg", or Nex's and ice demons' ice prison and icicle attacks being replaced with presents didn't make an appearance.

The logo shown in the loading screen was also replaced with a festive variant, and developer console had snowfall added to it.

With the refresh to the Shooting Star Distraction and Diversion on 16 December 2024, the star sprites found in the centre of the crashed stars were also wearing Santa hats.

The decorations in Falador, Lumbridge, Max Guild, and Varrock, the snowfall in Prifddinas were removed at the end of 5 January 2025 as the event ended, and the logo in loading screen and the star sprites were reverted to the non-festive variants. The decorations from oaks, regular trees, and the corresponding tree stump were reverted with the game update on 13 January 2025, and the snowfall in the developer console got removed.

The decorations from monsters and goebies were removed with the game update on 20 January 2025, and Solak's "Snowlak" naming got reverted. Zemouregal in his cell still retained the Santa hat, and the cell continued to feature the Christmas tree.
