The 18 Year Anniversary Celebrations or 18th Anniversary were a group of events marking 18 years of RuneScape, involving balloons and the return of the RS Anniversary cake.

Heralds could be seeing promoting the celebrations during the event.

Balloon drop

Every 30 minutes purple, yellow, and silver balloons dropped near all the lodestones, except in Prifddinas. A world announcement occurred two minutes before the balloon drop with the following message appearing in the player's chatbox: Party Pete is going to drop balloons near all of the lodestones (except Prifddinas), in two minutes, as part of the 18th Anniversary celebrations. All the heralds near each lodestone would also announce it.

Players could pop up to 50 balloons each day. All unpopped balloons disappeared after one minute of being on the ground.

Along with the following rewards players could also obtain the balloon animal followers.
