FAQ • doc |
The black stone dragon is the final boss of the second elite dungeon, the Dragonkin Laboratory. She is a dragonkin experiment based on gemstone dragons using a type of corruptive black stone.
She was created by Kerapac, who implanted black stones onto a dragon from Vicendithas' old batch. The dragon also had a sister dragon, which Kerapac placed on Anachronia to guard his laboratory. The dialogue during the fight and the dragonkin research diary suggest that the black stone implants allowed Xau-Tak to influence her. After an accident that saw the destruction of another specimen, Kerapac sealed her away in the laboratory, for fear of her extremely uncontrollable nature.
Strategy[edit | edit source]
The black stone dragon can attack with all three combat styles, but primarily uses magic attacks. After she has taken some damage, she will summon four black hands which uses slow but hard-hitting magic attacks while becoming invulnerable herself. Once all four hands are destroyed, she will continue the fight while adding in a few extra special attacks. After taking a certain amount of damage, she will again become invulnerable and fly around the battlefield, leaving slow-moving lines of white fire that can damage the player. Once this is done, she will continue using her default attacks and selective special abilities until she is defeated.
Quests[edit | edit source]
Curse of the Black Stone[edit | edit source]
Curse of the Black Stone quest requires completion of all 3 elite dungeons before or during the quest. As such, the black stone dragon must be faced and defeated at least once; this can be done solo or in a group, as well as on either normal mode or story mode.
Drops[edit | edit source]
One main drop, one secondary drop and one tertiary drop is rolled after the black stone dragon is defeated. The size of the group that went through the elite dungeon determines which drop table is used. There is a chance of additionally receiving a drop from the rare drop table.
Main drops (Solo)[edit | edit source]
Average amount of Draconic energy per kill is 10.87 (13.044 including double chance) with a value of 7,013,171.82 (8,415,806.18).

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The existence of the black stone dragon was first hinted at on release of the first elite dungeon, Temple of Aminishi. After releasing Seiryu from Xau-Tak's control, his dialogue refers to "another sharing his torment...under the obliterated crust of Forinthry."
- The dragonkin research refers to her as "Kreath Takla Draekun", and while "Kreath" and "Draekun" are confirmed to translate to "Black" and "Dragon" respectively, it is still unconfirmed if the entire name is a literal translation.
- The black stone dragon was referred to as male in one of the Patch Notes despite being female.
