The 2020 April Fools event was an event where players could go to the Falador cabbage patch and attack an Oversized Cabbage. Upon entering the cabbage patch, the player would be turned into a chef holding a rolling pin along with the pop-up message "You feel more chef-like than usual". Leaving the cabbage patch returned the player to their usual appearance with the pop-up message "The power of the chef fades. Sous sad."

The cabbage respawned every ten minutes and gave each participating player a cabbage boson which could be exchanged at Dr. Cole for either a ring of cabbage, ring of rares, The Cabbage Slayer title, or The Fool title. The player could also ask to receive 120 Archaeology; however upon attempting to redeem it, Dr. Cole states it is only for players with 99 Archaeology and that the offer has already expired.

The message the player was welcomed with upon login was A brassica digsite has been uncovered at the Falador cabbage patch!

Upon defeating the oversized cabbage, the player was given the message All that remains of the mighty cabbage falls to the ground.

Picking the cabbages on the field also yielded special dialogue.

During the event, players would randomly say cabbage-related puns, wherever they were in Gielinor, such as:

• Choy to the world.
• Everyone. Romaine. Calm.
• My Cabbages!
• What doesn't kale you makes you stronger.

Trivia

• The quotes spoken randomly by players are puns and parodies related to vegetables of other quotes.
  • "Choy to the world." is a pun on bok choy, a type of cabbage ("choy" being the romanisation of "leafy vegetable" in Cantonese), and on the Christmas carol Joy to the World.
  • "Everyone. Romaine. Calm." is a pun on romaine lettuce, a type of lettuce.
  • "My Cabbages!" is a line spoken by the cabbage merchant from Avatar: the Last Airbender.
  • "What doesn't kale you makes you stronger." is a parody of the quote "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger".
• While Dr. Cole offers 120 Archaeology to players with 99 Archaeology, this April fools event occurred the day after Archaeology was released in game. The hiscore for Archaeology by the end of the day was only at roughly level 70.
