Greater demon berserkers are monsters that can be found in the Wilderness by the shore east of the Demonic Ruins. These demons have less health than their Zamorakian Undercity counterparts and are susceptible to both stun and poison.
Like their fellow demons encountered in the elite dungeon, these monsters are capable of pathing around obstacles to reach the player and can deal immense amounts of damage with their melee attacks. They may be killed for a demon or greater demon task for more slayer experience.
Although they attack with a fireball animation, they only deal melee damage. However, they are much stronger than most other demons. Players struggling to kill the demons can use a safespot at the nearby bloodwood tree, as the pathing is too small for the demon to get through. They should not be confused for the nearby and similar-looking ash lords; the berserker's horns are shorter and point forward, while the ash lord's are longer and point backwards.
This monster has access to the Wilderness shared loot table, which is a tertiary drop. To access the table, it has to be killed inside the Wilderness. Higher-levelled monsters have a greater chance to access the table, but luck has no effect. The overall chance to access the table for this entity is 50/3,144 (~1.59%), which is doubled when on a relevant slayer task.
Reduced Slayer XP from Wilderness greater demon variants to reduce the impact of them warping lower level Slayer; they now give 0.04 XP per HP rather than 0.065 XP per HP.
Also removed their additional killcount cost to make them favor Slayer wildcards slightly less. For example, a greater demon ashlord will now reduce normal Slayer count by 1 rather than 8.
Adjusted the spawn location of demons at the bloodwood tree west of the Dragonkin Laboratory as they often interfered with players interacting with the tree.
Alongside the ash lord, the greater demon berserker are the first monsters to drop necronium salvage.
This type of greater demon used to possess the Strong guard status, which made the players' attacks incapable of missing and made their damage dependent on their accuracy; this was effectively replaced by the damage potential system on 4 March2024.
