A crimson charm is the third-tier charm of the four major primary charm types used in the Summoning skill to create pouches. The use of crimson charms in the creation of Summoning pouches requires Summoning level 19. The amount of experience gained from creating pouches that use crimson charms varies from 83.2 to 1015.2 each, depending on the pouch being created. Spirit gems may be used to save these charms when creating pouches.

Some of the more popular methods of obtaining these charms include killing black demons, rock lobsters using Magic, dagannoths, waterfiends for mid- to high-level players, and abyssal demons as high-level players. The charming imp may be used to automatically collect these charms. Crimson charms may also be purchased using Zeal obtained from the Soul Wars minigame.

Crimson charms are used in the creation of talon beast pouches, which yield 1,015.2 experience. This is the highest experience-yield of the creation of any pouch, including those made using blue charms, the highest-tier summoning charm. Talon beast charms are required as the tertiary ingredient for talon beast pouches, and these can only be obtained by slaying nail beasts during the Temple Trekking minigame.
