General malpractitioners are level 84 zombies found in the 'Rum'geon on Braindeath Island. They are encountered during and after A Clockwork Syringe. On occasion, general malpractitioners will also throw a syringe in the direction of a nearby 'Rum'-pumped crab, which will temporarily increase the crab's attack speed.

The poison inflicted by malpractitioners is their biggest threat, starting at an intensity of 285 life points and potentially dealing over 4000 life points damage in total if left untreated. If killing the crabs in the dungeon, and a malpractitioner begins attacking, the player should focus on killing the malpractitioner. These monsters have similar drops to the crabs that infest the dungeon, except the malpractitioners do not drop the brackish blade. They do, however, occasionally drop rune knives.

These monsters are classified as Zombies for purposes of Slayer. They are affected by the Salve amulet and its enchanted counterpart.
