A grimy irit is a herb that has not yet been cleaned to make a clean irit. Grimy irits may be grown from an irit seed with a Farming level of 44. It is dropped by certain NPCs. Cleaning a grimy irit requires a Herblore level of 40 and gives 8.8 Herblore experience. Clean irits are used to make super attack, super antipoison and antipoison++ with Herblore levels of 45, 48 and 79 respectively.

Grimy irit can be obtained from the Sorceress's Garden minigame, and also spawn inside the Edgeville Dungeon chaos druids dungeon.

Cleaning grimy irit yields a profit/loss of 287 coins per herb.

Farming[edit | edit source]

Grimy irit can be harvested from irit plants grown in a herb patch. A fully grown irit will yield a minimum of three grimy irit at harvest. When picked, each grimy irit gives 48.5 Farming experience.

Harvest yields for irit plants are determined by a "harvest lives" system. Each irit plant begins with 3 lives. Additional lives are added with the use of compost (+1 life), supercompost (+2 lives) and ultracompost (+3 lives). Every harvest action will roll a chance out of 255 on the specific patch's "Chance to Save", taking one of the harvest lives from the patch if it does not hit; the patch will be cleared when it runs out of lives. The "Chance to Save" is dependent on the player's Farming level.
