Cap'n Izzy No-Beard is a pirate captain and the master of agility. He can be found at the entrance of the minigame Brimhaven Agility Arena. He totes a pet parrot, whom he says has "cracked Jenny's tea cup", on his shoulder. He and his parrot guard the entrance to the agility arena, with a fee of 200 coins to use the arena. The fee is waived after completion of the quest Rocking Out, or with Karamja gloves 3 equipped. With level 99 Agility players may purchase an Agility cape from him for 99,000 coins, or while wearing the ring of charos (a), players may purchase the cape at 'half price' for 92,000 coins. As with all skillcapes, it also comes with the matching skillcape hood.
Cap'n Izzy is the destination for a hard clue scroll with the anagram "O BIRDZ A ZANY EN PC". The parrot will give you a challenge scroll, asking how many banana trees are in the banana plantation, the answer to which is 33.
History[edit | edit source]
When Rabid Jack's unrestrained attacks resulted in the Customs and Excise Office launching a campaign to eradicate piracy in response, the pirates of Mos Le'Harmless banded together under Gentleman Mallard to hunt down the rogue pirate and end his reign of terror.[1] The pirate fleet launched a raid on the Cursed Archipelago, Jack's base of operations, resulting in a massive battle that obliterated Jack's fleet until only his flagship, This Albatross, remained. Captain Izzy and several other pirates boarded the vessel and engaged Jack's crew as the ship caught fire, with Izzy himself fighting Giles, Jack's bosun. Lizzie, a fellow pirate, was able to reach Jack after killing one of his men; Izzy tried to warn her not to engage Jack alone, but she did not listen and was cut down by the mad pirate.[2] This, coupled with Jack shouting orders at his dead men and then ordering that they be flogged for insubordination, caused Izzy to curse at him and swear that he would not survive the battle.[3]
Just as it appeared that Jack could not be defeated, Young Ralph, a cannoneer serving under Brass Hand Harry, fired his cannon at Jack; the shot wounded Jack and killed Bosun Giles, allowing Izzy to finally reach him just as more of his comrades boarded the ship. Izzy then declared that Jack was finished, and that he would not accept his surrender even if Mallard did.[4] Jack refused to admit defeat, however, and swore that he would have his revenge before jumping overboard, not to be seen again for several years.
The surviving pirates scuttled the rest of Jack's fleet and put his crew to the sword. Those that went diving in search of Jack's corpse never returned, so Izzy and the rest of the captains swore to never speak of Jack again, fearing that his name had become a curse upon them.[5][6] Young Ralph, being the man who killed Rabid Jack, was charged with keeping the secret, only being allowed to speak of what he knew if the captains allowed him to by giving their marks to whoever wished to learn Jack's tale from Ralph.[7]
Years later, while digging for treasure in Karamja, Captain Izzy uncovered the Agility Arena beneath Brimhaven.[8] Excited by his discovery, and seeing a business opportunity, he formed a partnership with Jackie the Fruit and charged a fee to visitors wanting to test their Agility on the many traps and obstacles found inside.
When Rabid Jack resurfaced years after his apparent demise, an adventurer who crossed paths with his captains was directed to Young Ralph, who was locked up in the Rock Island Prison, in order to learn more about Jack. Ralph stayed true to his oath, however, and sent the adventurer to retrieve the captains' marks.[7] The adventurer travelled to Brimhaven and asked Captain Izzy for his mark; though Izzy was hesitant to believe that Jack had returned, he agreed to give the adventurer his mark if they could prove themselves by performing one small favour: to retrieve a brooch belonging to Wanda the Fish, an old friend and pirate who died in The Rock.[9][10] The adventurer returned to the prison, disguised themselves as a Customs officer and acquired Wanda's personal effects from the evidence locker, after which they returned to Izzy to deliver her brooch. Izzy thanked them for performing his task and gave them his mark.[11]
Cap'n Izzy No-Beard will be present during the interrogation of a zombie pirate head. Who claims to know the location of Rabid Jack's base of operations.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- After the release of the skill cape rework, Cap'n Izzy was seen wearing a trimmed Slayer cape at then end of the final cutscene in Rocking Out. This was inconsistent with the fact that he wears an untrimmed Agility cape normally. This was fixed in the patch update on 7 April 2015.
- Cap'n Izzy was previously lighter skinned before the Pieces of Hate quest release, hinting that he is a Native Karamjan Pirate rather than a mainlander.
