History[edit | edit source]

Early History[edit | edit source]

A pirate at heart, Bill became well-known among the pirate community and served as one of the five pirate captains present in the Battle of the Archipelago, during which the pirates of Mos Le'Harmless attempted to defeat Rabid Jack's fleet at the Cursed Archipelago in the south. Since Bill's role in the battle, he has quieted somewhat, serving as the captain of the The Adventurous.

Troubles[edit | edit source]

The following takes place during Cabin Fever.

Bill has spent much of his life plundering coastal settlements, but in doing so he has managed to anger many people, with one of them resulting in a spat with another pirate captain, who declared war on him. They pursued him to Port Phasmatys, where Bill barely managed to dock his ship, but his entire crew deserted him out of fear. Although he had legal reasons for being in the port, he was terrified of leaving, as the enemy crew waited for him to leave port to sink him and his ship.

Eventually, Bill came upon an adventurer who was skillful enough to assist on the ship and had aided pirates in the past. Despite the adventurer's lack of pirate experience and constant irritation from their attempted roleplay, they allowed Bill to steal some of their plunder and sink the ship to Davey Jones' locker, allowing him to return to Mos Le'Harmless safely. Appreciating their help, but irritated at the lack of their pirate roleplay, he gave them a Little Book o' Piracy to teach them how to act and speak like a pirate.

Growing Troubles[edit | edit source]

The following takes place during Rocking Out.

After running into Captain Rabid Jack's subordinates on Harmony Island, the adventurer noted that the encounter was not out of sheer coincidence due to their encounter with more zombie pirates at Braindeath Island. Returning to Bill, they asked him about Rabid Jack. He told them to stop saying his name, but the adventurer was persistent in knowing about the infamous captain. Bill sent them to Young Ralph, but had forgotten to tell them about the oath needed to learn the events of that day.

The adventurer returned from Rock Island Prison asking Bill about the oath. Bill then told them that he would give his mark if the adventurer could steal 50 Ships Mufassah's last treasure, and gave them a voucher for Brass Hand Harry. The adventurer returned with Mufassah's treasure, and Bill gave him his mark in return.

Jack's Return[edit | edit source]

The following takes place during A Clockwork Syringe.

Rabid Jack sent an assassin to the adventurer's house due to their constant thwarting of his plans. The attempt failed however, and the adventurer defeated the assassin. Knowing that it was Jack's work, the adventurer returned to Bill. Seeing that something serious had happened, he told them to meet him in a secret room in Joe's bar. Upon arriving, the adventurer informed him of Jack, much to Bill's consternation as they kept referring him by his full name, something which the pirates avoided as it meant bad luck. The adventurer showed him a severed zombie head as proof, which surprised Bill.

As the head refused to reveal information, Bill sent the adventurer to Captain Braindeath for the Twiblik Night Special, which was actually women's apparel. Bill dressed the zombie head up, causing him to crack and reveal information about a factory near Bloodsplatter Isle. The adventurer was able to disable the outside defence, upon which Bill provided a Barrelchest disguise to help them infiltrate and destroy the facility. The adventurer returned with proof that Jack had returned, and Bill began making preparations.

Stopping Jack[edit | edit source]

The following takes place during Pieces of Hate.

During his preparations, Bill learned that Customs was acting strangely. However, Customs managed to apprehend him and several other pirates at Rock Island Prison, where he was certain something sinister was going on as pirates were taken upstairs and he could hear their screams. He had Postie Pete send a letter to the adventurer for aid, who came as expected. The adventurer was able to free Bill and the other pirates, upon which he returned to Mos Le'Harmless to defend the island from Jack's forces.

After repelling the forces, he learned that Jack had taken over Braindeath's distillery and began to prepare the fleet while tasking the adventurer to free Braindeath. Bill later assembled a pirate fleet to Kraken Tooth Island, where Jack ambushed the fleet and killed many pirates. Bill survived the ordeal, but what he saw under the waters terrified him.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Bill Teach is based off Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard.
  • Bill Teach has little confidence in players, and will often make jokes about their character's lack of intelligence.
  • Bill Teach used to be one of the few NPC with more than one hair colour. His beard was brown while his hair was black. This has been fixed.
  • Bill Teach had a different facial hair style and colour while on 'The Adventurous' on Mos Le'Harmless. It was black and spiky on Mos Le'Harmless, but in Port Phasmatys it was brown, and looked like a goatee. This has been fixed.
