Ali Morrisane can be found in the northern part of Al Kharid's market, not far from the silk trader. He is a greedy, cunning and infamous Pollnivnian merchant who is always on the lookout for new business opportunities and will often sell useless junk to players for about 10 coins each without the player's consent.
Ali owns a shop of general stock that functions like an ordinary general store, though players can only sell back the items he carries, unlike general stores. Players can buy desert robes here.
After the completion of the Rogue Trader merchandise, he expands his shop to sell:
Runes supplied by Aubury in Varrock. 300 of each elemental rune are for sale at 17 coins each and are often cheaper than the Grand Exchange. Players may also repeat the activity from the merchandise to open either a small or large rune casket before getting the option to buy an assortment of runes. One of each type of casket can be opened daily.
Each time the player talks to Ali Morrisane, he will try to sell the player something. Upon failing to resist, Ali will forcibly sell the player a bucket, a tinderbox, a knife, a raw chicken, or a bronze pickaxe, and 10 coins will be removed from the player's money pouch. However, some of these items may be sold back to Ali Morrisane or on the Grand Exchange to obtain a profit.
Once The Feud quest has been completed, Ali Morrisane will need the player's help once again. He wants to expand his business, and will require the perseverance of the player to deal with various suppliers all over RuneScape. One part of this miniquest includes a sudoku-style puzzle, which increases the types of runes that can be purchased.
Ali was born in Pollnivneach and is prejudiced by the citizens of Al Kharid because of this. His known family members are his nephew Ali Baba (who may not actually exist),[1] his young son Farid who works at the Grand Exchange in Varrock, and a cousin by the name of Alex the Brave.[2] He wrote a very basic guide on how to kill things, which can be read in the Varrock dummy training area by the east bank. It is also said in Postbag from the Hedge that he drove lesser demons from unknown parts to Crandor.[3] Despite owning a small stall, he seems to be very rich, employing many people and devising large schemes and scams that make him even more wealthy.
Ali is the founder of AMCE (known as Ali Morrisane Commercial Enterprises), an apparently all-rounded company that creates items such as mining cranes and instructional guides for pirates.
Ali has been trying to enter the market in Menaphos, though his attempts to obtain an audience with Grand Vizier Ehsan were unsuccessful. He also sold a ring of invisibility and intangibility to a noble in the Imperial district, resulting in him being banned from there. He also shows disdain towards the workers of Menaphos, believing them to be unionists.
Appearing harmless, Ali is a brilliant businessman who crosses all limits when trying to achieve his goal. After having an adventurer settle a feud between bandits and Menaphites that follow Amascut in his home town, he "invites" a number of his nephew's acquaintances to Al Kharid to set up business. In reality, this farmer, tailor, smith and guard (Ali, Ali, Ali and Ali respectively)'s jobs are to threaten all of the town's shopkeepers, or rather, anyone who offers services or goods for payment, to join Ali's chain of business or have theirs taken down. Nevertheless, the shopkeepers of Al Kharid continue to live their lives naturally, knowing that Chancellor Hassan has put Spymaster Osman and the Elite Guard on it. When asked about it, Ali denies involvement and promises to have a talk with the Alis, explaining their behaviour by claiming they are simply enthusiastic from the move.
When Ali heard about bacon's rising popularity, he was able to contact Eli, pretending to be a representative of the Chef's Guild, and made a deal in which he would be entitled to 30% of Eli's earnings from said product.[4]
Ali hired a group of desert bandits consisting of at least Abbas the Shovel, Meshari the Engineer and Amir the Egghead, to loot Uzer Mastaba. He supplied the bandits with his own "ACME"-branded gear, all of which quickly broke down during the tomb raiding. The bandits originally returned to Ali with nothing but documents, of which he copied a paper concerning the buried mummy's identity, and sold another, concerning the mummy's actions in their life, to Reldo. Ali had the rest of the documents washed and turned into Al Kharid fliers. Ali then sent the bandits to loot Uzer Mastaba further in search of gold, which led to all of their deaths due to the Pharaoh Queen's curse lingering in the pyramid.
The adventurer found a journal describing Ali's involvement in the looting and confronted him about his findings. In order to restore Senliten's memories, the adventurer traded the copied document for some sq'irkjuice so Ali could research ways to make money from selling it to Osman, and persuaded Ali to hand over the original document using the powers of the activatedRing of Charos. When confronted about the fate of the desert bandits, Ali callously claims that it was just the perils of their job, and while he is distressed about the lack of loot, in the end he would choose their deaths over himself going hungry. Ali also claims that the reason his "ACME" gear broke down must have been because the bandits did not follow instructions, and that he cannot be held responsible.
When a group of akhs attacked Al Kharid, Ali was confronted by one, but the adventurer arrived and slew the akh, directing him to safety.
Learning that Bill had been cursed, the adventurer sought an Idol of Amascut in order to create an acceptable essence to access The Gate of Elidinis. Speaking to Father Salman, he suggested that Ali might have the relic, though not denying the possibility that it could have been a counterfeit. When the adventurer asked Ali about it, he told them that they could not have it, as someone else had approached him and paid a massive fortune for it. Zemouregal suggested to turn public opinion against him in order to force him to give it up, which the adventurer did by claiming that he was responsible for the akh attack and he was working with the Mahjarrat. With enough people riled, the adventurer returned to Ali; fearing for his life, Ali quickly gave it to them.

Ali Morrisane: ...I see you have not found my troublesome nephew. Have you any news of his whereabouts?
Player: Indeed I do. I was able to eventually learn of his whereabouts, although it was a little bit more challenging than I originally thought.
Ali Morrisane: Well then tell me what has become of him. Nothing bad I hope.
Player: I was able to discover that he is quite the salesman. Perhaps too good. He has roughly forty people working under him. Unfortunately a number of people didn't approve of his sales techniques and as a result he is in hiding.
Ali Morrisane: You make an old man very happy. I'm so proud of young Baba.
Player: I've just been thinking, Ali, there seem to be a few parallels between yourself and your nephew. Both of you are unscrupulous salesmen, both come from the same town and both of you no longer trade there. Were you sent into exile too?
Ali Morrisane: I have my reasons.
Player: No, now hang on, this seems to me like one of the strangest quests I have ever been involved with. I do not believe that a businessman like you would not know of a competitor, particularly a competitor as talented as your nephew.
