A yellow salamander is a creature that can be caught using the Hunter skill once a player has reached level 86 Hunter. The yellow salamander hunting area is located on the southern end of Anachronia just south of the scimitops hunting location. It can be accessed using the Anachronia Agility Course heading south and then east from base camp, best accessed from section B (requires Agility level 50) after crossing the plank. If you have a Slayer cape (requires level 99 Slayer), you can teleport to Laniakea and run west. It can also be accessed by using the Orthen teleportation device to "Ritual," exiting the building, and going south. To trap a yellow salamander, use a small fishing net and rope on a young tree. (The fishing net must be in the player's backpack; the one on the tool belt doesn't work.) The traps can't be smoked or baited.
Unlike the other salamanders, the yellow salamander is immediately released upon being caught. As a result, there is no item or weapon version of it.
At level 99 Hunter, players can earn around 184,000 base experience an hour while hunting yellow salamanders without using bait.
A variant called the tranquil yellow salamander can be caught during the Fragmented Memories mystery.

- A new, high level Yellow Salamander has been added into the game. You can find them on the island.
- Owners of the Necklace of Salamancy can rub the necklace to take on the appearance of a yellow salamander.
