Anachronia base camp is a location on Anachronia. After first arrival, speaking to Giles will trigger a short management tutorial making the town hall, where he will be available for future base camp management. The base camp can be built up with various structures at multiple tiers, with collected materials from workers. The skills required for the various upgrades cannot be boosted.
Workers[edit | edit source]
The camp starts off with 10 workers. As the sleeping quarters and Command Centre in Fort Forinthry are upgraded, more workers will become available. Workers can be allocated to gather the following resources:
These resources can be gathered to build and upgrade various structures in the base camp, animal pens on the Anachronia Dinosaur Farm, and skilling stations in Dream of Iaia. Before building the storehouse, the maximum amount (or cap) of each resource that can be held is 5,000. The storehouse section below details the cap for each tier. Workers will continue to gather resources when the player is logged out or not at the base camp. Each worker assigned to a resource will gather 60 of that resource each hour, updating at approximate 10 minute intervals, until the storehouse cap has been hit. The timing of the updates varies with respect to the game time on a world-to-world basis.
Compacted resources can also be found whilst skilling or killing the local fauna. These can be sent to the base camp to gain 100, 200, or 400 resources with a tier 1, 2, or 3 town hall built respectively.
Base camp structures[edit | edit source]
Town Hall[edit | edit source]
The first tier of the town hall is made during the base camp introduction in the eastern base camp. Mr. Mordaut, Giles, and General store assistant can be found here. Upgrading the Town Hall is required to upgrade all other base camp structures. A bank deposit box is located here; a bank chest is available as an upgrade. The tier 2 town hall brings with it an armour store assistant (west of Laniakea) and a weapon store assistant (in the storehouse). The tier 3 town hall brings with it a gem store owner (eastern side of the base camp) and a rune store owner (south of the spa).

Upgrading the storehouse increases the maximum amount of each individual resource that can be held at base camp. It is located just south of Town Hall. Once the Town Hall is upgraded to tier 2, the Weapon store assistant can be found here.

Sleeping Quarters[edit | edit source]
Upgrading the sleeping quarters increases the maximum number of workers at base camp. Tier 1 sleeping quarters has a maximum gathering ability of 900 resources per hour, tier 2 has a maximum of gathering ability of 1,800 resources per hour, and tier 3 has a maximum of gathering ability of 3,600 resources per hour. The Sleeping Quarters is located in the north-western part of the camp, west of the Spa.

Spa[edit | edit source]
The Spa is run by the spa owner. It provides the player with boosts to Agility experience across Anachronia. The boost doesn't apply to experience from silverhawk boots. It also allows the player to access spa pools similar to ones found in the Oo'glog Spa. The Spa is located in the northern part of the camp, east of the Sleeping Quarters.
This does not require As a First Resort, but it does not have the Bandos or sulphur pools.

The player lodge provides restoration for the player when stood in, in addition to various other perks. It is located directly east of the northern start of the agility course, with the skillcape rack one space east of the big ladder.

Bait box[edit | edit source]
The "pile of planks" bait box hotspot is located by the main stairs just east of the lodestone, immediately south of the lectern, or at any Big Game Hunter location. Once built, all the hotspots across Anachronia turn into bait boxes where bait can be deposited and withdrawn.

Building one at one of these locations only makes that location's deposit box available, and the rest must be built separately.

Ranch Out Of Time Pens and Storm Barn[edit | edit source]
Anachronia base camp resources are also needed to build the various pens at the Ranch Out of Time as well as the Storm Barn once the appropriate deeds have been purchased.
Strategy[edit | edit source]
Since the materials for the tier 1 Town Hall are provided during the tutorial, the player needs to focus on gathering resources for other buildings. It is highly recommended that a player builds the Anachronia lodestone, followed by upgrading the deposit box into a bank chest, before anything else in order to allow a central access point to every location on the island and provide the ability to bank on Anachronia.
Once the lodestone and bank chest are accessible, rotate between upgrading the Storehouse, Sleeping Quarters, and Town Hall until they are all tier 3. Doing this will allow the highest amount of storage for resources and the maximum amount of workers for constructing other buildings and nodes around the island, which would otherwise impede growth of the camp.
There are a couple of strategies when devoting workers to gather resources;
- Assign workers evenly to the required resources, or
- Assign the maximum amount of workers to one resource until the required amount for a building or node has been acquired, then switch to the next resource.
Option 1 is an easier way to gather resources and requires the least amount of input. However, Option 2 can be slightly faster when gathering a specific resource, though it necessitates regular visits to the camp unless you have unlocked the Command Centre in Fort Forinthry, which allows for remote camp management from the Command Centre.
Overall, it will require a minimum of 880 hours to get the Town Hall, Storehouse, and Sleeping Quarters buildings to tier 3 if gathering resources via workers and not making use of compacted resources. After this, it will take 468.75 hours to get the Spa, Hunter Lodge, and Slayer Lodge structures to tier 3, with an additional 197.5 hours for a tier 3 Player Lodge. As a result, it takes approximately 1,550 hours to construct all tier 3 Base Camp structures, or a minimum of 64 days and 14 hours.
To create tier 3 deposit and bait boxes, the overall time will increase to approximately 1,672 hours, or a minimum of 69 days.
Alternatively, when skilling in Anachronia, different types of Compacted resources may be obtained and the player may choose to focus the workers on the resources they may not be able to gather themselves.
While players can acquire the important upgrades to Tier 3 buildings such as the Dinosaur Tooth, Dinosaur Rib Bone at the Anachronia Base Camp through random skilling activities, Slayer, or Big Game Hunter, the Dream of Iaia is likely to drop all the upgrade materials within several days of using the dream because of the very high rate of XP drops within the Dream that allow for a roll on the table.
