Crystal skillchompas are level 97 Hunter creatures found north of the Tyras Camp, in the Isafdar forest. They are caught using box traps and give 410 Hunter experience each when caught. Once caught, crystal skillchompas transform into stackable crystal skillchompas, which can be wielded to give benefits while skilling.

When catching skillchompas, there is a chance of catching multiple in a single trap, up to a maximum of six, with higher levels of Agility giving a better chance. At level 99 Agility there is a guaranteed chance of receiving multiple skillchompas from a single trap.

After completing the player-owned farm tutorial, players may obtain crystal chinchompa farm animals. As with all chinchompas, protean traps do not have a chance to give players this variant of the chinchompa.

Crystal skillchompas can be attacked and explode when killed. If the attacking player is next to the skillchompa when it explodes, they will be pushed back 1 square and dealt 20 life points of ranged damage (this cannot be mitigated by Prayer). Players hunting these skillchompas should take care, as clicking on one will cause the player to attack it. A player can avoid this entirely by equipping a Ranged or Magic weapon without ammunition, or by selecting the "Hidden" option under the NPC Attack Option Settings.

Crystal skillchompas are not an eligible creature that can interact with the spell Crystallise.
