The Blisterwood Tree is a tree found in the Arboretum in Darkmeyer. Cutting a blisterwood log requires level 76 Woodcutting and gives 265 Woodcutting experience. The blisterwood tree can easily be accessed using the Drakan's medallion, since the Darkmeyer teleport goes directly to the arboretum.

Upon first chopping this tree, players obtain 3 blisterwood logs. After the initial cut, players can chop the tree to obtain more logs. Eventually the tree will have to repair itself (similar to a normal tree falling over). The tree respawns about as fast as a regular or oak tree and provides multiple logs per "session", just like other trees.

Bird nests are not dropped when woodcutting at the blisterwood tree.

The Blisterwood Tree features in the quest The Branches of Darkmeyer, where the player restores its health, then harvests logs from the tree and creates weapons with which to kill Vanstrom Klause.

The chance to successfully chop is affected by the hatchet used and Woodcutting level of the player: better hatchets and a higher Woodcutting level increases the likelihood of successfully receiving a log.

History

Blisterwood trees, the last one hidden in the Arboretum in Darkmeyer, are feared by the vampyres. They were once found all over Morytania, but following the vampyres' conquest of Darkmeyer, they began eradicating all of the blisterwood trees. This campaign was largely successful, but inexplicably, a blisterwood tree began to grow in a crack in one of Darkmeyer's buildings. The vampyres attempted to destroy this tree, but found that their methods had little effect on it. As an alternative, Lord Lowerniel Drakan had an arboretum built around the tree, and kept it in poor health.

It is believed that Queen Efaritay created the tree as a means of destroying the vampyres, making it unkillable and the greatest threat towards the vampyres and vyrewatch.
