A carambola tree can be grown with the Farming skill at level 113 Farming by planting a carambola sapling in a fruit tree patch. The sapling can be grown by planting a carambola seed in a plant pot filled with soil from any empty gardening patch and watering it; these actions are all performed in the inventory. A gardening trowel in the inventory or tool belt is needed to plant the sapling.

Planting a carambola sapling gives 811.4 Farming experience. The sapling then takes 13 hours and 20 minutes to become a fully grown tree. A healthy carambola tree, when checked, provides 35,057.9 Farming experience. Farmers next to fruit tree patches will watch over a growing carambola tree for 9 Dragonfruit (reduced to 7 with master farmer outfit) to prevent it from getting diseased. If a carambola tree is diseased, then disease on the tree may be removed using secateurs. If neglected, the diseased tree will die.

Each pair of carambolas give 1,795 Farming experience when picked. After harvest, new carambolas regrow on a carambola tree in pairs every 40 minutes.
