A player-grown Spirit tree.

A Spirit Tree can be grown by players from a spirit seed in one of the spirit tree patches which can be found in:

Players can unlock the ability to grow a total of four spirit trees:

  • Players can grow up to one spirit tree once they reach level 83 in the Farming skill.
  • A second tree may be planted at level 86, after completing The Prisoner of Glouphrie.
  • After completing both The Prisoner of Glouphrie and Plague's End, and with a Farming level of 89, the player can speak to Glouron in the elven city of Prifddinas
  • A fourth tree may be planted at level 114 with Apprentice Farmer rank (4,000 reputation) at the Farming Guild.

It is not possible to move a spirit tree without having to replant it.

As well as the spirit tree being a destination, it can also be considered an entrance to the spirit tree network.

Growing time[edit | edit source]

A spirit tree takes about 61 hours and 20 minutes, or 2.5 days to grow.

Experience[edit | edit source]

Growing a spirit tree yields a total of 19,501.3 Farming experience.

  • Planting - 199.5 XP
  • Checking health - 19,301.8 XP

Removal[edit | edit source]

Spirit trees are not cut down like traditional trees and then removed with a spade. Players just need to use a spade on the tree to remove it, or the player may ask the gardener accompanying the tree to remove it for them. With either option spirit trees do not yield roots when removed.

Seeds[edit | edit source]

Spirit seeds are not tradeable. They can be obtained from bird nests, as an Evil Tree reward, as a drop from a ganodermic beast, and from the Motherlode Maw (with level 115 Dungeoneering) or from Wythien for motherlode shards. It is also possible to receive spirit seeds as a reward from a Treasure Chest obtained from Meg if the player has allocated 100 quest points to the Hub track of May's Quest Caravan. Players can also obtain spirit seeds from Mrs. Winkin, who sells them at a price of 55,000 Vinesweeper points each.

Players looking to grow a spirit tree may also elect to buy a supreme growth potion (woody) from the Farmers' Market at the Manor Farm for 4,000 beans. This potion can instantly advance the growth of a spirit tree to its final stage.

A player teleporting to and from spirit trees.

Payment[edit | edit source]

Spirit trees may be tended by gnome gardeners for 5 monkey nuts (this is reduced to 3 when wearing master farmer outfit), 1 monkey bar, and 1 ground suqah tooth. Having a gardener tend the growing plant is strongly recommended given the rarity of the seed, the experience given, and the length of time it takes to mature.

Boosting[edit | edit source]

Spirit trees cannot be grown by using the Assist System. However, a player is able to plant up to one tree using Farming boosts, as early as level 77 with a spicy stew, which can boost 6 levels (once the appropriate quest has been completed). With the unpredictable nature of spicy stews it is recommended instead to use a pork pie, which can boost 5 levels, at level 78. A similarly reliable method would be to wait until level 79, and then use a stranger plant. Players with a Farming level of 80 may also use garden pies for a boost of 3 levels. The Farming requirement for two trees can also be achieved with boosts. The third spirit tree level requirement is not boostable. Players also need to have access to Prifddinas. The fourth spirit tree level requirement can be boosted.

Once fully grown and the health of the tree(s) checked, spirit tree(s) will appear as an option to travel to from other spirit trees.
