The shadow-dyed noxious longbow is made by dyeing a noxious longbow with Shadow dye. This process is irreversible, and the dyed version is untradeable. It has the same combat bonuses, special attack, and degradation/repair mechanics as the regular noxious longbow: it will degrade to a broken state after 60,000 charges of combat (but loses 2 per hit, giving a minimum time of 5 hours of combat) but can be repaired at Bob in Lumbridge, or at an armour stand. Like the regular noxious longbow, this bow cannot be used for Barbarian training to light a fire, nor can it fire ogre arrows or brutal arrows.
Making a shadow-dyed noxious longbow costs 1,599,356,110 coins.

Repair cost[edit | edit source]
This item costs at most 4,500,000 coins to repair completely. The repair cost is precisely calculated by the degradation percentage (i.e. with 75% charge remaining, a full repair would only cost 1,125,000 coins). It may be repaired through a variety of methods.
These methods cost more as they do not consider player's Smithing level for a repair discount.
- Bob - the axe seller in Lumbridge
- Tindel Marchant - the weapon and armour repairman at Port Khazard
- Dunstan - the smith in Burthorpe
- Squire - in the workshop area of the Void Knights' Outpost
Improved methods[edit source]
These methods provide a repair cost discount of 0.5% per Smithing level (including boosts).
- An armour stand in a player-owned house
- A whetstone which can be used anywhere
- The item repair ability of a legendary pet can be used once per hour

Special attack[edit | edit source]
The Noxious longbow has a special attack named Mirrorback, which requires full adrenaline and will summon a mirrorback spider to aid the player. While active, the spider will reduce damage from attacks against the player by 50%, and reflect that damage to the attacker, but it will also be damaged for an equal amount. For instance, if the player is hit by an attack that deals 1000 damage, both the player and the spider take 500 damage, and the attacker receives 500 points of deflection damage. This will last for ten seconds or until the spider is killed. This special attack does not work against certain attacks, and also cannot deflect damage back to attackers that are immune to deflection damage.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- For a short time after release, players who had any dyed noxious longbow could not use abilities or arrows of any sort. This has been fixed.
