This information has been compiled as part of the update history project. Some updates may not be included—see here for how to help out!
  • patch 4 March 2019 (Update):
    • Chargebows now take into account arrows equipped or held in an equipped quiver, so special effects like those of dragonbane and black stone arrows can be used with them. Damage will be reduced to the lowest tier of the arrow or chargebow. Chargebows will work as usual when no arrows or another type of ammunition is held in the ammo slot.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The chargebow was one of only three bows in the game with a speed of 'Fastest'. The other two are the hexhunter bow and the seercull. An update changed its speed to 'Fast'.
  • Players can only receive a maximum of 3 chargebows a day from monster drops, but this doesn't affect the number that may be traded on the Grand Exchange. It is unknown when the limit was changed from 5 to 3.
  • All slings were turned into chargebows with the release of the Evolution of Combat on 20 November 2012.
  • It used to be obtainable as a free sample from the Gnome Shopkeeper's Armoury in Burthorpe.
  • Chargebows do not appear in the area loot interface.
  • Chargebows dropped by monsters despawn much more quickly than normal items if not picked up.
