The noxious staff is a level 90 two-handed Magic weapon made by combining a spider leg with Araxxi's eye at level 90 Crafting. Players may obtain the pieces needed for the staff by killing Araxxor and Araxxi. It requires level 90 Magic to wield.
The staff becomes untradeable once used (or broken), but fully repairing it will make it tradeable again.
The staff will degrade to a broken state after 60,000 charges of combat (but loses 2 charges per hit, so has a minimum duration of 5 hours of combat). It can be fixed by Repair NPCs such as Bob in Lumbridge, or at an armour stand in a player-owned house. A full repair, without discounts, costs 4,500,000 coins.
Creating a noxious staff by buying a spider leg yields a profit of 37,026,153 coins.

Special attack[edit | edit source]
The Noxious staff has a special attack named Mirrorback, which requires full adrenaline or special attack and will summon a mirrorback spider to aid the player. While active, the spider will reduce damage from attacks against the player by 50%, and reflect that damage to the attacker, but the spider will also be damaged for an equal amount. For instance, if the player is hit by an attack that deals 1000 damage, both the player and the spider take 500 damage, and the attacker receives 500 points of deflection damage. This will last for ten seconds or until the spider loses all 10,000 of its life points, whichever comes first. This special attack does not deflect damage from certain attacks, and also cannot deflect damage back to attackers that are immune to deflection damage, such as the Queen Black Dragon.
Creation[edit | edit source]
Dyed[edit | edit source]
Once the dye is applied, the Noxious staff becomes permanently untradeable.

Repair cost[edit | edit source]
The Noxious staff at most, costs 4,500,000 coins to repair completely. The repair cost is precisely calculated by the degradation percentage (i.e. with 75% charge remaining, a full repair would only cost 1,125,000 coins). It may be repaired through a variety of methods.
With an NPC[edit source]
These less preferred methods cost more as they do not consider one's Smithing level for a repair discount.
- Bob - the axe seller in Lumbridge
- Tindel Marchant - the weapon and armour repairman at Port Khazard
- Dunstan - the smith in Burthorpe
- Squire - in the workshop area of the Void Knights' Outpost
Alternate methods[edit source]
These preferred methods provide a repair cost discount of 0.5% per Smithing level (including boosts).
- An armour stand in a player-owned house
- A whetstone device which can be used anywhere
- The Item Repair ability on a legendary pet can be used once per hour

Update history[edit | edit source]
- patch 20 August 2018 (Update):
- The broken version of the Noxious Staff will now display the correct attack speed consistent with its used and new variants
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Even though the weapon has a broken inventory sprite, the broken staff looks like an operational one when dropped on the ground.
