Shadow crystal is one of the crystals that power Nex in the Nex: Angel of Death fight. It is located in the south-east corner of the arena and is aligned with Umbra.

It was created by Zaros from the essence of 1001 Shadow Cacklers from the Shadow realm, during the Second Age. Alongside the crystals of ice, smoke and blood, it was used to create the Nihil race. Later, in the Sixth Age, it was given to Nex to serve as a source of power.

The crystal is attackable when Nex reaches 600,000 life points. It can only be attacked depending on the order of the praesul (Nex's mages) were killed. While this crystal is active, Nex is able to cast shadow traps underneath several players, which deal heavy, typeless damage while they are standing on the shadows. Multiple shadow traps are placed for each affected player, so they will need to keep moving to avoid taking damage. These traps will also harm other players if they stand on it too long.

Trivia

• The pillar it resides on has its own examine, which reads as "The pillar contains a sliver of crystal so dark it appears to drain the light around it."
• The crystal was made from the remains of 1001 Shadow Cacklers.
