Super magic potions are made by mixing clean lantadyme and then potato cactus in a vial of water, giving 172.5 Herblore experience. It requires level 76 Herblore.

Using a super magic potion temporarily raises the player's Magic level by an amount between 2 and 13, based on the player's current level; calculated by the expression: (2 + 12% of the player's magic level, rounded down).

This potion may be dropped by the Possessed Priest boss during the quest Icthlarin's Little Helper.

With 91 Herblore, A super magic potion (3) is an ingredient for making extreme magic potions, along with a ground mud rune.

A super magic potion (4) combined with a magic potion (4) in a crystal flask will produce a grand magic potion, one of the combination potions requiring 78 herblore.

Along with all other combat super potions and a regular overload, it is an ingredient for making supreme overload potions.

Update history

[edit | edit source]
This information has been compiled as part of the update history project. Some updates may not be included – see here for how to help out!
  • update 4 March 2013 (Update):
    • Existing ranging and magic potions are now prefixed with 'super' - so what was previously called a magic potion is now a super magic potion. New, low-level potions have been implemented for the 1-5 Herblore level range, and these have adopted the non-prefixed name (e.g. magic potion).
  • update 9 November 2009 (Update):
    • A large number of items with parentheses after their names have had spaces added for consistency and easier searching on the Grand Exchange (e.g. "Agility potion(4)" is now "Agility potion (4)").
  • update 26 October 2004 (Update):
    • An "Empty" option was added to the item.
