Silverquill, the Dreadhog is an early-game boss found in Havenhythe which released on 23 March 2026. Silverquill is designed to teach new players how to respond to telegraphed attacks. She drops silver and sanguine spines, new materials that can be used to tip havensilver bolts.

In order to access her, players must complete the Hearts of Sanguine quest.

According to Needlemouse, Silverquill's true name was Kiama and she was one of Inanna's friends. Her cave was infested by the Sanguine at some point during the Sixth Age, infecting her and her children, resulting in her corruption.

Obtaining all unique rewards from Silverquill completes the feat The Whole Hog and awards the title [Name] the Hedge Knight.

Update history

[edit | edit source]
This information has been compiled as part of the update history project. Some updates may not be included – see here for how to help out!
  • patch 30 March 2026 (Update):
    • We have made some mechanical changes to the Silverquill, the Dreadhog boss fight:
      • Boss timer now starts as soon as Silverquill spawns.
      • Damage over time effects are now cleared when Silverquill phases to prevent bleeds from reflecting against the player when phasing.
      • Blood bombs now uses the square telegraphing system to better reinforce that they are area of effect attacks.
      • The blood hog attack now fires a projectile from the minions to the blood hog so you can clearly identify when Silverquill has been healed.
      • Info boxes for the Silverquill encounter will now better respect your info box location settings.
    • When receiving a unique drop from Silverquill or Ivar. The broadcast message would be sent twice, instead of once.
    • Silverquill's silver and sanguine spines drops will no longer show up in the Adventurer's Log.
  • hotfix 24 March 2026:
    • Fixed an issue with Silverquill not despawning after being defeated, leading to another spawning on top.

Trivia

[edit | edit source]
  • Pre-release design blogs introduced Silverquill as "Sanguine Hedgehog" instead of "Dreadhog".
