Orichalcite ore is an ore that can be obtained through mining orichalcite rocks, requiring level 60 Mining, in various places around RuneScape. As players increase their Mining level and use higher tier pickaxes, they are able to mine orichalcite at quicker rates.

Orichalcite is required to craft orikalkum bars along with drakolith.

Orichalcite, like other mining resources, can be stored in an ore box. 100 orichalcite can be stored in a orikalkum ore box or higher. This capacity is increased by 20 at level 66 Mining, by a further 20 with the completion of the Everything Is Oresome achievement, and by a further 10 with the completion of the Everything Is Still Oresome achievement.

Achievements

Development history

Before the DailyScape Overhaul on 16 March 2026, 25 orichalcite ores could be crafted into a divine orichalcite rock, requiring level 60 Divination.

Update history

This information has been compiled as part of the update history project. Some updates may not be included – see here for how to help out!

• update 16 March 2026 (Update):
  • The ability to create divine locations was removed.

• update 4 May 2021 (Update):
  • New transmutations added to game with Divination skill updates.
    • Orichalcite ore can now be transmuted from Vibrant energy and Runite ore.
    • Orichalcite can also be transmuted into Necrite ore, using lustrous energy.

• patch 7 January 2019 (Update):
  • Added new tiers of ore to mine. At 60, orichalcite and drakolith. At 70, necrite and phasmatite. At 80, bane ore (existing bane ore counts). At 90, light animica and dark animica.

• update 7 January 2019 (Update):
  • Added to game.

Trivia

• Despite this ore being spelt with a c (orichalcite), the related bar and equipment are always spelt with a k (orikalkum).
