A deposit's replenishment animation before the Mining rework changed rock depletion mechanics.
Concentrated gold deposits can only be found in the Living Rock Caverns located underneath the northern part of the Dwarven Mine. They require a Mining level of 80 to mine ore from. There are only 4 concentrated gold rocks in the game; they are in the northwest, northeast, southwest, and southeast corners of the cavern.
Concentrated gold rocks will give 5 gold ores at a time. This works if boosted by the effects of a shooting star. Geodes cannot be obtained from this type of rock. If using Gold stone spirits, five will be used at a time, doubling the output to 10.
Players can gain around 62,000 Mining experience an hour from mining concentrated gold rocks at level 80 Mining; around 70,500 experience an hour at level 89 and up to 80,000 experience an hour at level 99 Mining. Those who are looking to be more efficient when mining concentrated gold rocks should superheat at the same time, this means a player can gain Smithing and Magic experience with no loss in experience per hour in Mining. Although this is not recommend since Mining and Smithing rework changed ores per action. A better option is using gold stone spirits in conjunction with perfect juju mining potion and sign of the porters (only one charge will be used).
The surrounding area is dangerous due to the presence of level 92 living rock protectors and living rock strikers, which are aggressive to players that come near them; however the effects of the magic golem outfit or any of the shark outfits will negate this. If this is not an option, players may choose to use the official world 83 to reduce the chance of attack from the creatures (due to number of players, and players killing them) or use the southeast deposit which provides a safespot for mining without interruption. Note that players can take some damage while transversing from and to bank.
