Dark animica rocks are a type of rock that can be mined to obtain dark animica. They are found in various mines and can be mined with at least level 90 Mining.

Light and dark animica rocks may occasionally replace ore rocks in the Trahaearn district in Prifddinas during the Trahaearn hour of the Voice of Seren, and will remain there until the end of the hour. There is also a chance that no ore rock is replaced. This is independent for each rock in every world.

Lore

edit

Animica is described in Boric's Book of Metal:

Animica is formed from crystallising over thousands of years at sites of significant concentrations of anima, usually the resting place of a dead god.

The most notable site of dark animica can be found in the Empty Throne Room, where the empty lord Zaros was betrayed by his Legatus Maximus, Zamorak.

The dark power within Zaros was rejected by the anima mundi, and gradually manifested as crystals of dark animica.
