Crystal formation (The Empty Throne Room)

Crystal formation (The Empty Throne Room) was removed after an update. The contents of this page no longer exist in RuneScape, and this article is kept for historical purposes.

Crystal formations were found in The Empty Throne Room and were added to the game on 7 November 2016. They could be mined for impure Senntisten crystals. Mining them required level 65 Mining, and granted 4.6 experience per crystal - or 46.8 if the crystal formation is empowered. The crystals could be deposited in the refinatrix in the centre of the throne room for an additional 20 Mining experience per crystal.

They were removed with the Mining and Smithing rework on 7 January 2019, they were replaced by dark animica rocks.

• patch 7 January 2019 (Update):
  • Crystal formations have been removed, and the empty throne room is now the primary mining site for dark animica ore. The agility and divination activities are unchanged, except it is no longer necessary to refill the boxes at all.
