The Zamorak key is an item used in Kindred Spirits. Verac the Defiled asks the player to create the key to free him from the contraption, but the key can only be made if Major Mary Rancour, Meg, or Linza hurt themselves in the Key Maker. It is considered a red herring item, as it will always break when used on the Zamorak statue; instead, players must retrieve the Saradomin key.
