The ghosts are involved in the Lost Souls event in Wilderness Flash Events.

Players may lay them to rest, yielding 10 Prayer experience and a piece of ectoplasm each. The ectoplasm must then be given to the reanimated skeleton in the area to succeed in the event.

The number of ghosts does not change while the event is in progress; any ghosts laid to rest become invisible for a few seconds while remaining unchanged for other players.
