Guards are looking after the several merchant stalls in the Catherby market. If they see a player attempting to steal from one of the stalls, they will say Hey! Get your hands off there! and will attack the player until they flee the area or the guard is killed.

Development history

Originally the guard was located in Taverley market following the release of the Troll Warzone in January 2012. In August 2016, when Catherby was graphically reworked, two guards have been added to its new market. In September 2019, with the Burthorpe and Taverley declutter, the Taverley market along with the guard were removed and reintroduced in February 2020 in the Lumbridge market which replaced the Combat Academy. In September 2021 the Lumbridge guard was replaced by the Lumbridge guardsman, with Catherby becoming the only place the guards can be found.

• They share their model and behaviour with Market Guard found in Draynor Village market, although their combat level is lower.
