The Arc/Birds

Birds of the Arc is an activity in the Arc. Players can try to find all sixteen birds listed in the Arc Journal Birds pages. There are two descriptions for each bird - one before sighting it and a different description after it has been found.

Players can get hints about bird locations from Odd Billy on Cyclosis. After discovering a new bird in the Arc, players will no longer have the option to inspect that type of bird again.

Some birds appear on certain islands at particular times, while others are drawn by skilling activities. Birds are not instanced and they do not appear on the minimap.

• Island specific birds spawn on specific days, every 30.5 minutes, starting at 00:05 UTC. They stay active for 10 minutes, and are synchronised across all worlds.
  • Crested Sillago Snatcher, Shrine Ibis, Gongdung Peligorn, Cyclosis Cockatiel, Titchy Tinamou, Tuai Leit Toucan, Waiko Warbler
• All skill-related birds can be spawned on the named Arc islands and on Uncharted Isles by participating in the corresponding activities. Skill-related birds will remain spawned for 10 minutes. Skill-related birds can be spotted by anyone, allowing the level requirement for the activity to be avoided by having someone else spawn the bird on a named island.

• Uncharted Isles birds spawn on specific days on Uncharted Isles; they don't despawn at all, instead simply not spawning if the island is visited (or logged-in to) on a day they don't spawn. No matter the size of the voyage, there is about a 10% chance that players will encounter a bird, so short voyages are the most efficient when trying to find these birds. If an island can spawn one of the birds, it will always spawn that bird on the relevant days - an island saved with a claim island flag spawns the same birds.

Cyansoul Kakapo		Siphoning springs (1/600)	Divination colonies throughout the Arc.	Before: This bird is found near ancestral energy. After: Its feathers are allegedly the same colour as the great spirit dragon, Seiryu. It is attracted to spiritual energy.
Tortleshell Plover		Hunting tortles or ornate tortles (1/200)	Tortle colonies throughout the Arc.	Before: This bird is found near tortles. After: This bright pink bird is often seen hitching free rides on the backs of tortles.
Dusky Wigglebill		Appears on Tuesdays at dusk	On Tuesdays, this bird can be found in Aminishi's spirit realm, at the west beach. This bird can also be found on Uncharted Isles or treasure map islands that load in with the dusk skybox. Azure Parrot		Cooking arc gumbo (1/40) or shark soup (1/10)	Fires and ranges in the Arc. You don't have to be cooking, but that's where the bird appears on Waiko.	Before: This bird is attracted by cooking soups and stews in the Wushanko isles. After: This bird has a keen sense of smell and often begs for food.
Awah Guan		Mining sea salt or alaea salt (1/200)	Near crablet spawns on Uncharted Isles or by the salty crabletines on Cyclosis.	Before: This bird is attracted to salt. After: These creatures are often found circling crablets. They love to bathe in salt to keep their feathers shiny.
Great Pecker		Cutting bamboo or golden bamboo (1/200)	Bamboo trees throughout the Arc.	Before: This bird is attracted by woodcutting. After: These curious birds will instantly become friendly when you offer them food. They eat practically anything, including bamboo.
