Bamboo is a resource obtained from chopping bamboo stalks found on the isles of Waiko, Tuai Leit, North-eastern Aminishi, and Uncharted Isles. Chopping the bamboo stalks requires level 90 Woodcutting and grants 202.5 Woodcutting experience each. Five bamboos may be fletched into a bundle of bamboo or tortle trap at level 96 Fletching; players can be assisted by others to bundle bamboo.

There is also a superior version golden bamboo on Uncharted Isles which requires Woodcutting level 96 to chop down.

Bamboo can be sold to Zhuka (bamboo merchant) at the Bamboo Market 101 in Waiko, and to Alder (bamboo merchant) at the Big Bada Bamboo shop in Tuai Leit for one chime each. However, it is suggested to bundle the bamboo before selling, due to the higher value of bundles of bamboo. Five bamboos are also traded to the Tuai Leit gem trader in exchange for the Tuai Leit sparkle.

Bamboo may be obtained occasionally from pickpocketing Waiko islanders near the Waiko marketplace. It can occasionally be found lying on the ground while exploring Uncharted Isles.

With a dragon hatchet at level 94 Woodcutting, about 50 bundles of bamboo (or 250 bamboo) and 51000 Woodcutting experience can be gained per hour.

Boosts

• Woodcutting boosts such as the lumberjack aura and Honed Invention perk will increase the rate at which bamboo is obtained.
• The Polishing perk can be used to gain golden bamboo while chopping regular bamboo.
• Players under the effect of a perfect juju woodcutting potion will have a chance to harvest double the bamboo on successful harvests.
• A Dwarven chainaxe's double resource mode allows players to harvest two bamboos on successful harvests, sacrificing any experience gained.
• Decorated woodcutting urns work with bamboo.
• Sana's fyrtorch gives +6% chance of successfully cutting bamboo, 20% chance of receiving an extra bamboo and a chance to receive splintering arrow tips.
