The crystal tool siphon is a device created at level 54 Invention. The blueprint for making crystal tool siphons may be purchased for 5000 chimes and 5 taijitu at the Waiko Reward Shop. Players must also have researched blueprints for the equipment dissolver and equipment siphon before discovering the crystal tool siphon blueprint. Players are able to automatically siphon crystal tools at a selected level with a mechanised siphon filled with crystal tool siphons.
It allows players to extract the equipment experience from an augmented crystal tool without destroying it, in the same way as an equipment siphon. However, siphoning augmented crystal equipment with a crystal tool siphon gives Invention experience as if they were tier 90 items instead of tier 70. At equipment level 12, siphoning will give 621,000 experience instead of 459,000 experience, an increase of 162,000 experience. At average prices, the crystal tool siphon costs more than twice as much per experience point gained as the equipment siphon.
Due to the rarity of crystal parts and relative costs, it is recommended to only use the siphon on the augmented crystal hatchet, pickaxe and mattock and disassemble all other augmented crystal equipment to acquire the crystal parts. Higher tier tools that comprise crystal tools cannot be siphoned with this type of siphon and thus must be siphoned using a regular equipment siphon.
