The modified farmer's hat is made by using a farmer's hat on a farmer's hat add-on. In addition to granting a 1% Farming experience bonus, players can teleport to the allotment patch in Morytania three times a day, or to Taverley if they do not have access to Morytania. When the hat is worn, there is a 2% chance of saving seeds when sowing. If the seed saving effect happens when planting a starbloom flower seed, both the seed and battlestaff will be saved.

Development history

Before Dailyscape Overhaul, players could receive two bird's nest (cheap seeds) a day or four if they owned four or more pieces of the farmer's outfit. The first time a player received bird's nests from the farmer's hat, they would be prompted to choose whether the nests should be noted or unnoted. This selection could be changed under the Farming section in the Skills & Experience tab of the game settings.

  • "Receive items" option and functionality was removed.

• patch 2 June 2025 (Update):
  • Added a toggle for receiving noted bird's nest (cheap seeds) from the modified farmer's hat. When first-time players receive items from the toque, they will have the option to choose whether they'd like noted or unnoted nests.

• patch 24 February 2020 (Update):
  • Runescape Mobile: Modified farmer's hat and amulet of bountiful harvest now message in green when seeds are saved in the sowing process.

• patch 30 April 2018 (Update):
  • Corrected a typo when confirming that you wish to teleport with the Modified farmer's hat.
