A broken arrow can be found in certain spawn points, by searching crates, by digging at the training grid or level 3 grid at the Varrock Dig Site east of Varrock, by cleaning finds at the Varrock Museum, from the Fishing Trawler minigame, on the ground at the Ranging Guild or may appear in the backpack if players are equipped with ava's accumulator or ava's attractor. It can also be obtained from "rubbish" boxes during King's Ransom.

When it is caught during Fishing Trawler, the player receives 5 Fishing experience. At the Varrock Dig Site, Terry Balando says, "No doubt this arrow was shot by a strong warrior!"

Broken arrows and broken staves can be repaired at a repair bench (or upgraded version) in a player-owned house, or with a whetstone device (this consumes the device).

When repaired, players receives a message telling them what arrow they fixed. It may be a mithril arrow, steel arrow, iron arrow, bronze arrow, headless arrow, or no arrow if it was beyond repair.

The following success rates are provided by Jagex, unless otherwise specified.

There is a chance of breaking the broken arrow and receiving nothing. The success rate is higher with a higher Fletching level.[1]
