Haig Halen is the curator of the Varrock Museum. He can be found on the ground floor[UK]1st floor[US] of the museum. When spoken to and asked about treasures for the player, he'll tell the player that this museum is "full of treasures" and that any treasure the museum found took some time to acquire.
Players must speak to him after gaining at least 50 kudos to complete one of the easy Varrock achievements, It Belongs in a Museum. He is also currently overseeing the construction of the barge, which will require 100 kudos to use in the future.
He sells the master quest cape to players who have completed all requirements. If a player asks him about the cape without having completed all requirements then it will show the list of requirements left to do in the player's chatbox.
His name appears on the Varrock Census taken in Year 160, Fifth Age.
He must be pickpocketed during The Golem quest for the display cabinet key to the statuette.
During Defender of Varrock, his surname matches one of the Elders of Avarrocka. He then tries to wield the Shield of Arrav, with no avail. The shield must then be given to Dimintheis in order to fend off the zombie invasion.
During Dimension of Disaster: Curse of Arrav he can be pickpocketed by the player to obtain a display cabinet key so the player can steal the Shield of Arrav.
The update history project is a work-in-progress – not all updates to this topic may be covered below. See here for how to help out!
- patch 11 May 2020 (Update):
- The Varrock Museum Curator will no longer talk about the expedition to Anachronia as though it is currently happening.
- Before the update of 13 February 2017, he was involved with Shield of Arrav. During the Shield of Arrav quest, he would hand the player two halves of a certificate in exchange for the half of the Shield of Arrav. One of the halves could then be traded to a friend so both players can join both halves of the certificate together to claim the reward for returning the shield. Both of the two halves of the certificate were different.
- Before the update of 20 May 2019, he was involved in The Dig Site, where he would stamp the unstamped letter.
