Heists are a repeatable Thieving activity centred around sneaking into high-security locations in order to obtain loot. The first two heists were released on 24 November 2025 as part of the 120 Thieving update. The activity is meant to offer an active gameplay compared to more relaxed training methods and offer loot and experience proportionate to the player's performance. Each player progresses through the heist independently, but it is possible to observe other players and their performance. Heists require the player to avoid guards and traps, while also utilising core Thieving gameplay like pickpocketing, lockpicking, and looting chests to progress in the encounter. Various Thieving equipment contributes to the player's success chance. Additionally, new routes and loot sources are unlocked at higher levels, improving the runs.

Liara, a representative of the Thieves' Guild, provides the player with a stolen goods bag as the player enters a heist. Looting the chests and safes throughout the heists provides the player with points of loot with a cap of 500. Whenever the player is caught by a guard or triggers a trap, they lose a portion of their loot, but each heist can provide more than 500 points, so there is a margin of error. The amount of loot points determines the amount of coins and supplies received after a run. Rewards can be claimed from the heist storage chest outside. The final reward chest of each heist provides a significant amount of loot points, meaning that completing a run always rewards the player regardless of their overall performance.

Asuran Arsenal

edit

The Asuran Aresenal is located in south-eastern Anachronia and requires level 108 Thieving to access. It is a dragonkin area that used to store the siege engines that Kerapac used in his assault on Senntisten. This heist focuses on timing, as the players have to navigate between machinery, cannons, and flamethrowers. The area is dangerous and players can suffer a regular death inside, making food or other healing methods an important factor.

The unique rewards in the Asuran Arsenal include:

Development history

edit

Heists were first announced on 23 September 2025 as a part of the Thieving update meant to raise the skill's level cap. Unlike the previous skill cap increases released since 2024, it was decided that the update should be primarily content-driven, with level cap increase facilitating new content rather than adding a new tier of existing training methods. Heists were intended to be high-risk, high-reward training method, inspired by the Big Game Hunter encounters and offer an alternative, active way to train the skill, as well as make it a viable money making method with unique rewards. A more detailed blog post with the lists of new training methods, levels, and rewards was published on 21 November 2025.
