Luck of the Dwarves detail.png

The Luck of the Dwarves is an enchanted alchemical onyx ring that, when worn, slightly increases the chances to receive certain unique drops and rewards that are affected by the luck mechanic. The ring can be made by casting the spell Enchant Level 6 Jewellery on an alchemical onyx ring, which requires level 87 Magic. An alchemical onyx ring can be made at level 91 Crafting by combining an alchemical onyx and a gold bar at a furnace while carrying a ring mould. Luck of the Dwarves is classified as a tier 4 luck enhancer, in addition to also providing the effects of a tier 1 to 3 luck enhancer. The ring can be equipped right before the monster dies to benefit from the ring's luck effect.

The ring also provides unlimited teleports to:

The ring shines whenever a rare drop is received, not necessarily when the ring impacted the drop.[1] When the ring shines, the following message appears in the chat box: Your Luck of the Dwarves shines brightly and you receive: [number] x [Item].

When the ring affects clue rewards it gives a different message and can occur more than once per clue: Your Luck of the Dwarves shines brightly and within your casket you find: [number] x [Item].

This ring can be imbued at Mazcab by the Armoursmith for 7,500 teci, into a luck of the dwarves (i). This increases the strength, range, and magic bonuses to 19.

Using a Dark Facet of Luck enchantment permanently bestows a 1% chance to skip a clue step on completion of a clue step, a 0.1% chance to gain two caskets on completion of a clue scroll, and adds a teleport to the Dwarven Outpost to the ring.

This ring can be used on hand of glory (Warforge) to unlock the relic power which gives tier 4 luck without having to wear the ring or use other means to increase luck. This requires level 83 Archaeology (boostable), and 200 monolith energy.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • It is currently one of only two items to give tier 4 luck bonuses (the other being Hazelmere's signet ring).
  • Previously, when looting the treasure chest decoration in a player's house, the ring would shine, even though it is a guaranteed drop of an elite clue scroll.
  • On 13 November 2017, this ring (alongside other luck rings) was given a small quality update where it showed the item that the ring obtained for the player. However, a bug quickly surfaced which was similar to the Ring of Wealth glitch, causing players to receive a significantly larger number of rare drops than intended. The bug was hotfixed several hours after discovery.[6]
  • The name is a play on the term "luck of the draw".
  • During the second week of the 20th Anniversary celebrations, an additional bonus line follows the drop received as (Celebration of Combat bonus).
