Heroes of the Shadow Reef is interactive scenery that commemorates the first 20 players to defeat the Ambassador in the Shadow Reef by themselves. It is located on the Daemonheim peninsula, by the dock at the eastern coast.

Background

This was added to the game after confusion over who the first player to achieve a solo Ambassador kill was. Some time after the boss's release, a player triggered the following global broadcast: News: [Player] is the first person to single-handedly defeat Kranon the Ambassador! Congratulations!, with a second player triggering the same broadcast almost an hour later. The repeated broadcast sparked confusion within the community. Some players believed that the first player completed the dungeon as a trio, before defeating the Ambassador solo, and that the second broadcast reflected the first legitimate full solo dungeon completion. Various video clips later surfaced, which showed successful solo kills that took place between the times of the first and second broadcasts. This indicated that other players had completed the dungeon solo before the second broadcast, and hence questions were raised about which was the first true solo kill.

Mod Orion was prompted to investigate which player did in fact solo the Ambassador first, and the resulting data was used to compile the list of 20 players.

Originally, the list was intended to show only the first 10 players, however the events that transpired led to a decision to include all players up to and including the second broadcast.
