The custom-fit trimmed spiked masterwork boots are tier 92 melee power boots. They are a cosmetically altered version of the custom-fit trimmed masterwork boots, made by bringing them and a glorious bar to Elof. They are otherwise identical to the unspiked version, including retaining degradation charges when created, the degradation mechanics in general, and the set effect. They can be reverted back to the unspiked version freely by Elof at any time.

If a player is wearing at least three pieces of custom-fit trimmed masterwork equipment, 10% for each piece equipped, a minimum of 30% of the damage taken is stored and dealt to the player over the next six seconds as typeless damage.

This item degrades to a broken, repairable state over 200,000 charges of combat. It can be repaired with unused and untrimmed masterwork boots, consuming the item. Custom-fit trimmed masterwork armour is meant to never degrade or lose a charge when hit by a current target of a slayer assignment or Soul Reaper task, or within an elite dungeon. Outside of this, it lasts for 200,000 charges, twice as long as trimmed masterwork armour.

Set bonus

[edit | edit source]

Trimmed masterwork melee armour and its variants share a set bonus called Trimmed masterwork set:

  • Set bonus (3): when damaged: Per piece worn, 10% of the incoming damage is delayed and dealt out over the next 6 seconds. (50% with all five pieces.)

An identical effect (though with a different name) is provided by masterwork ranged equipment and masterwork magic equipment (the pieces cannot be mix-and-matched for the set effects).

The delayed damage is dealt like a bleed (after calculating any damage reduction), dealing 20% of the stored damage per hit every two ticks, with the possible remainder caused by rounding being dealt as the sixth and final hit. For example, if a player wears the entire set and receives what would be a hit of 4,001, the set would reduce the initial hit to 2,000 damage. Then, the delayed damage would apply for 400 damage five times over the next 10 ticks, and the remaining point of damage is dealt on the 12th tick. If the player receives another heavy hit, however, while the first delayed damage is being applied, then the delayed damage resets along with the increased damage so that the damage is now divisible by five.

When wearing four or five pieces, players can easily Soul Split flick without much concern and act as if they have double the health as usual (although still factoring in the bleed damage, which takes several seconds to process). It also allows them to survive what would otherwise be a fatal attack if wearing any other armour.

The set effect works in PvP.

The delayed damage is considered hard typeless damage.

The delayed damage is affected by the following:
  • Defenders
  • Leviathan ring
  • Warpriest of Saradomin armour/Warpriest of Zamorak armour/Anima core of Sliske armour (if it uses the Saradomin/Zamorak warpriest effect)
  • Obsidian equipment
  • Phoenix necklace
  • Crystal Shield
  • Barricade
  • Intercept
  • Paused by dialogue boxes or teleporting
  • Reprisal and Transfigure
  • Blood essence
  • Upon death all damage stacks are cleared
  • Death Ward relic power
    • Death Ward interacts with both the initial hit and the damage taken due to the set effect. The damage stored in the pool by the set effect is based on the original damage before the effect of Death Ward. The damage reduction values (for the initial hit and each hit of the delayed damage) are determined on the tick the damage is taken. This means that the values can change depending on which life points bracket the player is in (between 0% and 25%, between 25% and 50%, or between 50% and 100%, as well as if the damage taken causes the player's values to cross these brackets. Due to the bleed damage being based on the original hit, in some cases the relic can cause the player to take more damage if the player's life points are increased, thus leaving the previous bracket they were in and vs versa if their life points fall below entering the next bracket of damage reduction.
  • Hellhound familiar. Due to the bleed damage being based on the original hit, if the hellhound were to die before any of the bleed hits triggered, the bleed damage the player would take would be 25% higher. This means an overall damage reduction of 10% instead of the usual 20%.
The delayed damage is unaffected by the following:
