Brynna the Survival expert is the second non-player character players meet on Tutorial Island. She teaches player the basics about Fishing, Woodcutting, Firemaking, and Cooking; providing them with the necessary equipment and showing them how to catch shrimps with a small net, chop trees with a bronze hatchet, light a fire with a tinderbox and cook shrimps for food.

When Tutorial Island sank, she disappeared. She returned during Beneath Cursed Tides when it was revealed that all inhabitants of the island were cursed and morphed into sea creatures. During the quest the player has to do her task and the tasks of other instructors to break their curse.

• patch 9 November 2020 (Update):
  • The Survival expert has been re-named Brynna, to make it clear who you're supposed to speak to.
    • She will now wave to attract your attention.
  • Interacting with the tree near the Survival Expert no longer forcewalks you into conversation but will still remind you of your objective.
  • Activity Tracker instructions during the Survival Expert section of Tutorial Island are now clearer.
  • Woodcutting and Fishing on Tutorial Island will now immediately display an overhead message to notify the user, instead of a delayed objbox.

  • Brynna's chatheads will no longer appear when interacting with certain areas of Tutorial Island.
