Poletax was a druid of Taverley who taught Herblore. He also ran Poletax's Herblore Shop, which sold supplies useful for training herblore to players. He could be found in the north of Taverley, a short distance southeast of the stone circle. When he was removed, Jatix was updated to have his appearance and dialogue.
Poletax gave one eye of newt, vial of water, and grimy guam as free samples. They can be combined to create an attack potion. However, the grimy guam respawns at a much slower rate than the other two ingredients.
He also bought potions in apparently unlimited quantities, even if noted. The interface allows selling 50 per click. He would offer the sold potions in his shop for a short time at a steep markup. See Poletax's Herblore Shop for prices.
