Carwen Essencebinder is a character found in Burthorpe, west of Xuan's tent, in her store. She is the Runecrafting skill tutor. She can also teleport players to Rune Essence Mine. She owns the shop which is run by Apprentice Clara.

Her teleport to the Rune Essence mine will not count toward the Enter the Abyss miniquest.

• Her teleport option says it would take you out of the starting area, despite the fact that the starting area no longer exists, and Burthorpe was never within its boundaries anyway. There is currently no way to disable this prompt.
