The Mining tutor.

The Mining Tutor (real name Monlum) was a Non-player character who was one of several tutors and guides in the game. The tutor no longer exists, he was deleted with the Advisors and Objectives update in September 2009.

He would tell players how to mine certain ores and what pickaxes can can be used at certain levels. He was located at southern mine in the Lumbridge Swamp and would hand players a bronze pickaxe if they did not have one in their inventory or bank.

Monlum also let players work for him if asked. His tasks varied from fishing for Crayfish to collecting cowhides.

Jobs offered by Monlum:

  • Collect 26 logs. Reward: money.
  • Bring him 25 raw crayfish. Reward: money.
  • Bring him 26 leather gloves. Reward: money.
  • Bring him 22 pieces of copper. Reward: money.
