Forgotten mages are Zamorakian monsters that must be defeated during the Succession quest. They are found at the Mage Arena and four of them must be defeated as part of the first wave of monsters.

When defeated, a health orb appears in their place, which can be absorbed to restore life points.

After the three waves are completed, defeated forgotten mages can be seen talking with a defeated forgotten archer and a defeated necrolord. Eavesdropping on the conversation between the mage and necrolord reveals that Bilrach has been taking prisoners and interrogating them.
