Poison II[edit source]
Appears to be the same as the other one but with odd colouring... Was released with or between Sea Slug and the Ranged Guild, it seems. Can't really think of anything; maybe an unreleased item that was supposed to be involved with the guild? I've never seen it before, anyway, I think. Also, I'll be returning to Tarn's Lair to see if I can get more poisoned bolts. Of course, Guthix wizards use poisoned dragon daggers which still work as they did pre-eoc, btw.User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 08:05, January 2, 2016 (UTC)

- Good news! Obtained more steel bolts (p+), from a Giant skeleton in Tarn's Lair this time. It dropped 2. They can be wielded in the ammo slot. If you put them in a Tirannwn quiver, the poison is magically removed, however. Therefore I imagine shooting them etc. might to the same. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1
08:52, January 3, 2016 (UTC)
- Also, our drop tables for skeletons and zombies are extremely incomplete. Missing so much, e.g. 4 adamant arrows, pot of flour, plant pot, pot lid, fishing potion (1), agility potion (2), ring of duelling (3), games necklace (2), combat potion (3), super ranging potion (3), 3 rune nails, ? black nails, 6/12/18 steel nails, fire and earth orbs, bowls of water, gold ores, 6 steel studs, candle, shortbow, willow shortbow, oak plank, magic staff, off-hand black longsword, and a bunch of other random stuff. And that's just Tarn's Lair. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1

- In the case of (kp) poisoned spears and hastae and steel bolts (p+), definitely, since they really are separate items. (untradeable too) As for other poisoned items, probably not until a way is found to actually obtain them, i.e. a monster is found that drops them. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1

Scrolls[edit source]
I'm not going to bother contemplating why, but if you simply code the "|-" outside of the if statements, it seems to work properly, even if you aren't using every line. Does it look good enough to put on the scroll pages now and if so, where should it be placed? Bottom before the gif? Dsctatom (talk) 16:19, January 2, 2016 (UTC)

bonuses[edit source]
Currently an unfixable problem, sadly. At least with the way infobox bonuses is set up. I can remove the image2 as a parameter and only ever allow 1 image to display. Is that an adequate fix? It's that or find a new name for side by side image display. MolMan 13:37, January 3, 2016 (UTC)
- Actually, that doesn't sound unfixable. There are your 2 options. MolMan 13:39, January 3, 2016 (UTC)

- Will you bot the changes? MolMan 20:55, January 5, 2016 (UTC)
- That should work. I ran into this problem when creating it originally, so you may also need to fix a parameter called "image_2". I added in the functionality for that specifically for this problem, but it's a bad and confusing option. MolMan 21:18, January 5, 2016 (UTC)

Why shouldn't I use it? It standardises all the quest navboxes. I standardised all the quest navboxes individually, but people keep making them inconsistent due to personal preference for a group name. That's why I want one standard so they remain consistent. Salix (Talk)
08:20, January 8, 2016 (UTC)
- They all actually fit the standard... Every quest has a NPC, enemy, item, scenery, reward, location, or music track. If not then those groups are omitted. And if an article doesn't fit in any of those groups then there's always the related group.

Adding loadout images to Farming guides?[edit source]
Do you think it would help our wikia to add 2 loadout images to several farming money making guides? The first option would show the recommended items/teleports that most players have available to them, while the second option would show the most time efficient option possible (obviously subject to change on people's opinions, though I feel like I know the fastest routes). I can also possibly add another gold/hour thingy to compare the two options made available.
These images would let players identify what they need to bring along a lot faster than reading text, and for experienced players, they may only need to examine the image to figure out what they need to do and skip reading altogether.
Because I'm new here, doing this would realistically take ~3-6 hours to make look appealing and up to wikia standard, depending on how many difficulties I encounter with the editor, so I'd like at least one professional wikia editor's opinion who has been involved in these pages before. I would hate to put in the work just to have it reverted. Wobbiso (talk) 00:02, March 5, 2016 (UTC)

Company wants 300m USD for England's Biggest Game Developers[edit source]
The first paragraph is basically saying that the company has suffered a big loss due to the decline in iron ore prices, and has decided to invest in a "macro network(?)" to increase capital investment. Last night, the firm announced that its wants to invest in Jagex LTD, exceeding no more than 300m. It's worth mentioning that the acquisition is England's largest game developer, it's online RPG which is second only to World of Warcraft.
The second talks about the "Share Purchase Agreement", where the mining company and another investment firm "Pintian Investment" are going to pay the 300m in cash together, where it appears Pintian (the private investor) plans to put out 70% of the cost.
The third isn't really important, just basically tells you who is Jagex and that RS has over 200m registered players, second only to Blizzard's WOW, and won the Guiness record for most popular (written in text as "explosive") free MMORPG.
Fourth says that players of "River Lakes" (RS, lol) mainly come from USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and a select other European countries, and that America accounts for 54% of its revenue. Then the article says if the company manages to take over, Jagex is expected to bring in $50m (didn't specify currency, gonna assume USD). It also says that the company believes that the acquisition will be beneficial to the Jagex's business transformation and will enhance their "mergers and acquisitions experience", and that it will help the company's (mining one) profitability and lay the foundation for Jagex's business transformation.
Fifth says that if they fail to make the purchase before 30 April 2016 there's a risk of the Share Purchase Agreement being terminated. I don't know the next sentence, something about the transaction being involved with relevant governmental departments(?)
Last paragraph talks about how the mining company is committed to reorganizing their assets. Also because of the current status of the iron ore industry they will actively seek other foreign developers to invest in order to develop a new profit growth point.
Not the best translation but it should be understandable. -- SpineTalk

Beta NPC/Item list[edit source]
Like you suggested, I had a look at the #194 client and was able to dump a list of NPCs and items along with their examine texts and combat levels. The version of the data files might be slightly later or earlier than the version of the client, as far as I know there's no way of telling, but they're both definitely from the beta. A lot of game content is still missing. See my user page.
Interesting items:
370: Elem longsword - A razor sharp elemental Longsword. 339: Resetcrystal - A reset crystal for changing things in game. (also present in RSC)
NPCs:
49: Dryad (level-1) - A wood nymph. 62: Lizard man (level-22) - A scaly reptilian creature. 63: Mummy (level-50) - A tightly wrapped monster. 64: Orc (level-20) - A hideous malformed elf. 65: Troll (level-69) - A hideously deformed creature. 108: cyclops (level-56) - A one-eyed man eater. 127: Mammoth (level-41) - A wooly elephantlike monster. 128: Terrorbird (level-28) - A giant raptor. 140: Cormorant (level-27) - A sea bird 141: Albatross (level-27) - A sea bird

Sappy message addressing the elefint in the room[edit source]
We never knew each other /too/ too well, but reguardless, I feel like I should at least write something - especially because I'm a sappy and sentimental person.
You helped me with a lot of stuff, especially in the beginning, when i first joined, when I was a horrible piece of trash. And even after that, you put up with me when I did some really stupid shit. That's more that can be said for some people.
You, among other very important people (and a walking, breathing meme) helped me not only to become a better editor (probably subjective), but a better person in general. I know that's really sappy and dumb, but hey. It's the truth, I guess.
Good luck with whatever you wanna do next. Your great contributions were not made in vain.

Item infobox script wrong param value[edit source]
Jlun2 used a script to fill in the values of the Infobox item parameters of the newly added items of the Beyond the Arc promotion of TH, and it changed the value of equipable to "no" while they are equipable. So I contacted Jlun2, and Jlun2 said that I should contact you:
My original message to Jlun2: "Why did you change the values of equipable on the High Armour of Hanto and the weapons to "no"? They are equipable :P"
Reply from Jlun2: "I used cook's script to auto add them on the pages. It's in https://cloud.sagemath.com/ and I have absolutely no idea what it spits out. Sorry, but please ask Cook on access or what/why it does."

Detailed item images[edit source]
Hey Cook, Coelacanth tells me you're able to obtain very high quality DIIs with AA from the game cache. I've recently been using RS:AL3D to obtain item images we're unable to obtain in-game from The Arc, but I'm not aware if it's able to create images with anti-aliasing. Is there a better way for me to be doing this? Also, is there an easy/preexisting way for me to find/create a JSON dump of IDs for the viewers? I know of this dump by you, but it's out-of-date for what I currently need. Cheers for any help you can provide. — Heaven Sent (talk) 23:07, October 2, 2016 (UTC)

I'm a bit late to the graduation party, but I do wanna say that reading the message you left on your userpage really made me look back happily on the time I've had here as well. Especially the bottom two paragraphs on your userpace feel very relatable to me. I've had a great time discussing stressful situations with you about whatever small problems there were, all around the wiki. Big updates, AWB edit sprees, always optimizing things when editing... You left an incredible mark on this wiki, and on the community as well. Sometimes I even wonder if you slept at all.
Finally I'd like to say one more thing using a quote from both you and me: Get your ego in check, kid. On the wiki I do kinda everything. Bot flag on PT wiki[edit source]
Hello! A few days ago, we at the Portuguese wiki had TyBot help us with some maintenance tasks. We chose to get the recent changes page flooded instead of waiting for a bot flag on that account. It might never be necessary, but we agreed to give a bot flag to the english wiki's main bots to avoid that happening again, should they ever perform edits on our wiki. As such, and as a part of our recent efforts to revitalize the wiki and bring it closer to the english one, we'd like to invite you to create a userpage for your bot there, so that we can request bot flags. Our suggested list of bots can be found [[pt:Blog de usuário:Crowborn/Bot flag para os principais bots da wiki inglesa|here]]. Re:Pillars of Zanash[edit source]
Even if I knew back then, I don't anymore. I think it was just speculation based on a presumed typo by someone in 2002. Certainly, Witchaven dungeon and its entrance already existed (at least I think) due to being used in Family Crest, but I have no idea what it looked like in RSC. I don't think anyone knows what the Pillars of Zanash are supposed to be at this point, sounds ideal for a postbag question. Oh wait, the last postbag has been cancelled. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 09:03, July 16, 2017 (UTC)
- Witchaven Dungeon released 9 April, Tourist Guide released 30 April. Witchaven Dungeon entrance looked like this in RSC. Since they were the only pillars near Ardougne when tourist guide released, most likely candidate, but not confirmed.

Pharaoh's outfit items[edit source]
Hey, I've come across the pharaoh's outfit items pages (not the overrides) and the different colours for the items seems to be wrong. The recolours available are blue, green, red, orange, yellow. The corresponding item images are also matched up wrong. You created the pages, so thought I'd ask you. Do you remember where you found File:September_2001_Map.png? Thanks. {{SUBST:Signatures/Stormykins}} 16:24, October 27, 2017 (UTC)
- Hi! Thanks very much for your time. I'm trying to find as many officially released RSC maps as I can. I'm quite fortunate in that most were released as lossless gifs and they also numbered their releases. I was wondering if an official RSC wilderness map was ever released. The closest I've found so far is an official map that included the first few Wilderness levels only.
- The map you uploaded took my interest because it looks so well done, and copies the official style really well. I suppose when the wild was first released there was a rush to produce a high-quality map and that was the result. Interesting that it was put together by Everdred. :-)
- This really made me realize how unhappy I am with the state of RSC wilderness maps. The one we have on the RSC Wiki looks so amateurish. I should really do a high quality one at some point... {{SUBST:Signatures/Stormykins}} 19:37, October 27, 2017 (UTC)
- Not yet, mostly because dating them would be a hassle. I can estimate the update but not when they were actually uploaded, as iirc there tended to be some delay before a new map got uploaded. I have the pre-Asgarnia map, one from shortly before Wilderness, map5.gif (after wilderness, before members, Karamja cropped for some reason), map7.gif (earliest members map), map8.gif, map9.gif, map10.gif, and map11.gif (the final map). I can add the missing ones to World map/History if there is interest. Btw, the 2002 maps on that page appear mislabelled as unofficial - the only ones that aren't official should be the ones with the wilderness, Kharidian Desert, Gu'tanoth, and Kharazi Jungle. I am certain that those last few areas never appeared on any official map. {{SUBST:Signatures/Stormykins}} 21:16, October 27, 2017 (UTC)
RSC World Map Update[edit source]
I uploaded everything that was unique and made my own wilderness... world map. You can have a look at classicrsw:File:World Map.png and World map/History if you want. I'm very tired now, so I suspect I may have made a few errors in the map. On the whole I'm very pleased with it, though. One thing I am unsure about is fishing spots in the wilderness and southern Karamja - I don't currently have membership on my RSC account and I'm lacking motivation to go and count them on a level 3. Also I'll probably want to remove the background information because it's of no interest to the average reader but I do like to waffle on about how I've been wasting my life. {{SUBST:Signatures/Stormykins}} 03:11, October 29, 2017 (UTC)

Board vote reply[edit source]
Hey, Thank you for the invitation to vote for Weird Gloop elections, but my only write-in candidate is Merovingian. Second, I'm more interested in producing jobs here in the United States, just as much as Weird Gloop is concerned with producing jobs in Britain for British Citizens (predominantly). I'd like to see the WG / Jagex conglomerate produce more opportunities for real players to produce profitable content, and make the game more popular as well. In my case, that would probably be a sizable investment, but then, I've proven in the game that I'm more creative than all but a handful of Jagex employees. I'd be a fairly safe bet.
Thanks, but no thanks. THAT 1 CH00B (talk) 23:28, 30 December 2019 (UTC)

Do you have any old computers you played RuneScape on?[edit source]
Hi Cook Me Plox!
Recently we've been trying to recover lost versions of RuneScape that Jagex didn't save. We're asking anybody who played from 2001-2012 to check old computers, laptops, hard drives, or backups for old RuneScape files.
Your userpage says you've been editing the Wiki since 2009, so it's very likely that you have one of the missing versions. It would be great if you could search any old devices you may have so that these older versions of RuneScape aren't lost forever.
If you have any questions, feel free to join our Discord which shows the specific files we are looking for in full detail, and where people can help guide you through the search. Alternatively you can read our page on the Lost Media Wiki, and leave a message on my talk page.

Re: Penguin locations solved[edit source]
I see that you've been in touch with Mel Kazul and Brainiac, too. I do use the page you mention to make the weekly table. There's some politics involved, but hopefully we could get past that. (Some people refuse to differentiate between certain penguins, e.g., calling every penguin that spawns near CW a "CW penguin," so the names I use for the wiki aren't necessarily the names you'll see in the forums.) As for systemic variations, penguins also turn into pumpkins in October (if they spawn/respawn in October). I think that humans should also have the ability to intercede in any automation when Jagex decides to update the algorithm, as they have done a small number of times in the past. --Saftzie (talk) 00:28, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
