I don't know what's up with some of the chatheads you uploaded, but they're horribly glitched it seems. I think it might be nxt. Please stop using that for images, in that case. Did you orb some of the areas unique to the quest, and the decapitated Myreque chatheads? User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 19:18, April 28, 2016 (UTC)
As I said, please stop using nxt for images then, especially since it's nothing more than an open beta atm. Can confirm everything looked fine in Java (openGL ofc, since DirectX chatheads still lack depth texture). :) And damn...got any alts? User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 19:35, April 28, 2016 (UTC)
Nature Spirit images appear fine-ish - mostly chatheads and items seem to be affected. So, I guess, don't use nxt if a chathead is visible. :) User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 19:37, April 28, 2016 (UTC)
If either of you have any alts that haven't done Priest in Peril, the River of Blood livestream showed that quest was slightly updated with River of Blood's release. Re:NXT[edit source]

That's balderdash. It's not "current" in the sense of "only", nor is the other version "obsolete". It still exists and is supported. NXT is fine where its faults are extremely minor or cannot be seen - location images should preferably be taken in NXT. However, you cannot possibly claim that stuff like items, chatheads and pretty much anything slightly zoomed in that shows the AA glitches should be preferred to Java. It doesn't matter what I think (as I said on Jlun's talk, there are images I'd have wished to revert personally but didn't because I couldn't objectively justify doing so) - if something is objectively of worse quality, it should not be used. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 18:22, April 29, 2016 (UTC)

PS. The reason for the reverts, if I hadn't made that plain, wasn't "I don't like it" or "this is NXT", but "x, y, z are clearly worse than in the previous image and/or this adds no improvement over the previous version in return". Off topic, do you think Dassocles and Apherna should get pages? And all the other dead Icyene? User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 18:29, April 29, 2016 (UTC)
I asked you not to use NXT for images that contain chatheads or obvious glitches. It's *clearly* bugged. So please don't, and "NXT is newer" is not a valid reason not to. If it looks worse and doesn't add anything better-looking (e.g. draw distance, if that's required) in return, common sense dictates it shouldn't be used. That applies to NXT and literally anything else, e.g. yak hair. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 07:41, April 30, 2016 (UTC)
It's not merely different; looking at the outline of e.g. Gadderanks and Vanstrom anyone can see that it's distorted and glitchy. And good job, I noticed Sarius's head was fine, for instance. As for e.g. Ral, I doubt this was properly tested if that's the case. He may be thin, but his hat certainly isn't. :P Also, look, Sir Whrenity. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 12:31, April 30, 2016 (UTC)
Welp, if they wanted it to be thin, they'd have updated the chathead across the board, I reckon. My recommendation would be to use the proper AA for nxt images unless it features a chathead (or otherwise looks bad), in which case use Java. Because it doesn't have broken chatheads and stuff. Preferably OpenGL for lighting and textures, which are still glitchy in DirectX. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 12:38, April 30, 2016 (UTC)

the Karshai and Koschei split[edit source]

This split was supposed to split the two people because they had a different function. Now it's just just splitting the person, because the history is left out and it's not even about the function because the Koschei page isn't just stats and strategy (like the trivia). I really don't get why you wanted to split them for this tiny difference that didn't really change a whole lot to the pages (not in structure, flow or information. Chapters just got changed). The split isn't much of a split. Why is this necessary . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. Enquidou Talk This user likes to do Quests and genuinely loves the story line; lore is his love! . . 04:53, May 6, 2016 (UTC)

20, really? You didn't by accident typed a redundant 0? Because both Kkarshai's and Koschei's page have only one infobox, not even multiple. Doesn't seem to me like they need more than that, let alone 20. So...give a real reason.
And.. if you give Koschei his history, he will have a history section, it's really.. quite simple actually. On the Kharshai page you still ave a Koschei in combat section, how is that not an unclean mess? . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. Enquidou Talk This user likes to do Quests and genuinely loves the story line; lore is his love! . . 19:21, May 6, 2016 (UTC)
Yeah those 4 phases (TFT & Dom Tower are essentially the same) aren't even listed on the page itself. And... is there a lot of need for it, isn't it just a slight change in combat level and attack speed with the rest staying the same, basically? Not even a change of tactics. That can all be added in a small little table. Anyway it wasn't there before, it isn't there now... why is this a problem for if it would've been on the Kharshai page? Since unclarity or cutter is certainly not a worry, since it's not the case on the Koschei page now. . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. Re:Images[edit source]

I was going to reply seriously, but then I saw you called those other images "perfectly fine". I know you aren't blind. This means you're either lying or an idiot and I know it is not the latter, because you're a lovely chap. I've always assumed good faith when it comes to these uploads, but at this point it's borderline vandalism. Stuff like the NPCs I replaced yesterday are objectively worse than, err, any other version really. They have jagged edges, excessive lighting detail and horribly glitchy textures. Bestiary/its replacement should only be used for cutscene-only NPCs, old holiday NPCs, and generally things that you cannot find in-game with minimal effort. These NPCs aren't that, with the exception of Romeo (why are we even updating his image anyway; seeing that he was removed from the game at one point, shouldn't he still have the graphics he had at that point in his image? But that aside).

Also, I noticed in the chat logs you at one point said I supposedly make these reverts because I don't like NXT. That's utter bullshit and you know it. I was frankly quite upset hearing something like that from your mouth (figuratively speaking), Wahi. I made those reverts based on objective facts that those images were worse because NXT is a horrible buggy mess that was released too soon. I was initially excited for NXT because yay draw distance and stuff, and then they released it a year too soon, just like with EoC, NIS and Legacy. What my personal opinion is is utterly irrelevant to wiki matters. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 07:55, June 23, 2016 (UTC)

Bit smaller and in-game >> huge and from bestiary. Idk, I haven't even been able to *find* that whole thing. :( On topic, are three images of the ZMI mages really necessary? I mean, I know you spent time and effort transing them, but really, they look exactly the same minus the face. I propose to only keep 3, since the beard nicely obscures the fact that his head is cut in half. :P User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 12:43, July 2, 2016 (UTC)

Seren (with Eluned) image translucency[edit source]

You've reverted my edit to add transparency to this image, the reason being translucency not applied and it is blurry. Can you please clarify what you mean? Seren is completely opaque, there is no translucency. I blurred the edges of the image to anti-alias it and remove the sharp pixelated edges it would have otherwise. If by blurry you mean something else, then that's a problem with the original image too as I editing transparency into that one. Thank you! Quest.png Jokrage Talk Divination.png 17:58, July 15, 2016 (UTC)

Re:Re:Seren[edit source]

I don't know how I missed that I removed those parts of the head! As for particles, the other Seren image didn't include them so I figured they should be removed. Since blurring the edges isn't how to anti-alias, what is the standard method for this wiki? If you know of a tutorial that would be great. I can't retake the picture however as I chose to save Eluned. I'll be sure to fix the image properly whenever I get time. Quest.png Jokrage Talk Divination.png 18:38, July 15, 2016 (UTC)

Pirates[edit source]

Who requested those pirate NPC images? 'cause the models are exactly the same but the new images have a disrupting pose and lighting. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 09:40, July 16, 2016 (UTC)

Bad reasoning, that weird pose still looks better than the idle animation. And it doesn't even apply to the Braindeath and Donnie imijis. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 10:17, July 16, 2016 (UTC)
No, it's objective. Idle anims are bad. And no, I meant Braindeath, his previous image had no awkward pose since that idle anim hadn't been added yet. Please revert mk. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 11:26, July 16, 2016 (UTC)

Pet file names[edit source]

We need to reach a consensus on file names, and the name you went ahead with for detailed images (File:<pet name> (pet).png) is not internally consistent with pre-existing well-established file naming systems. Your argument that File:<pet name> detail.png isn't correct because it's not a DII is unfounded, because it has never been established that exclusively DIIs are to be named with the "detail" ending. Vant blood[edit source]

Copied from Isobel's talk; Ah, thanks for the clarification, I was not aware of this (although I do have a peculiar sense of déja vu...but that isn't the first time). Let's conclude that it's a peculiarity of NXT, then, aye? Aye. I still fail to see how it's any better, seeing that, ignoring the size, the biggy-biggy-what-rhymes-with-biggy version cuts of the goatee and neck, in addition to lacking textures (presumably NXT uses directx, which has been unable to render chatheads correctly for a few years now, as opposed to opengl...) and lighting detail. So...that. :/. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 19:21, October 4, 2016 (UTC)

Absolute Lorefail[edit source]

Great Lord of the Mahjarrat!

From your twitter page I've seen you enjoy Lorefail. You quote the great and wise Ilujanka Apropos, who once said "unacceptable lorefail".

Here are a few things.

I hear him! I hear his voice in my head. Yes, Lord. I will do as you command. Saradomin will be crushed for his insolence. Zamorak will be punished for his betrayal. Armadyl will suffer for his arrogance. I will mete your vengeance upon all of them!

-Azzanadra's memory

Since when is Armadyl the Arrogant one and Saradomin the insolence one?

This is a case of absolute lorefail and in name of Apropos name, this cannot be tolerated!

Desert gods[edit source]

What are you talking about? I did finish the quest (assuming you were not referring to Guthix's memories) and yes Icthlarin exhibited canine behaviour but that's presumably just his animal aspect coming through. The origin story provided by the anon, while indubitably with good intention and written just fine, sounds like a bad fanfic... I highly doubt Jagex would ever come up with somethin-- then again they did approve of Sliske's dialogue so eh. Anyway, is there a source? Since the story sounds highly unlikely, but I suppose remotely plausible. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 17:34, January 21, 2017 (UTC)

RE:A Towering Feast[edit source]

Okay, so the holiday event has an accept screen and it even mentions that it is a 'quest'. However for all intents and purposes, A Towering Feast is a holiday event and not a quest. Plus the icon that was added was the examine text icon, and to be consistent with the actual quests that have an icon, the icon from the accept screen should be used in this case. Farming-icon.png Salix (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 07:34, May 11, 2017 (UTC)

What infobox? Farming-icon.png Salix (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 11:45, May 11, 2017 (UTC)
Infobox != Navbox :P But for consistency purposes the accept screen icon should be used as it is used on most of the quest navboxes at the moment (there are currently ~70 quests without an icon, but Mod Stu was adding accept screens to them, so eventually all quests will have one). However I don't know if other holiday events (besides Xmas'11) have an accept screen and/or icon that could be potentially used in their navboxes like the quests have now. Second Age Zarosian leaders[edit source]

Thanks for helping out with the [[Template:Second Age Zarosian leaders]]! I'll explain why I added Zebub to it. It is based on this quote by Duke Sucellus during the Kharshai's memory in Children of Mah: "Well, I note that I am not the only commander here. *scromf* Zebub over there, for example. Avernic belong on the front lines where they have some use. *nomf* I also note a number of august individuals are not in attendance. *crunch* Where is the Legatus Maximus?" If I understand it well, it looks like he points out Zebub as an example of a "commander". In the previous sentence he says that he is not the only commander, from which I concluded he and Zebub were the same rank. I guess it is still possible that Zebub is a Tribune instead. Thoughts? --Galian prist (talk) 21:09, September 24, 2017 (UTC)

Wizard's book and wand[edit source]

Hi! Over the course of the last few months, I have been going through all armours and weapons removing information from the main body that also appears in infoboxes. I don't see the need to have information duplicated on an article. I noticed you reverted 2 of my edits as I complete this project. Wizard's book and Wizard wand. I see on these particular articles that drop sources are listed in the {{Dropping monsters list}} template and the release date is listed in the Item Infobox. I have already made significant progress in this project with an estimated 700 articles completed so far. I'm hoping I can continue without edits being reverted. So far this is the first instance of this happening. Can you please give me some insight as to why you feel it's better to have duplicated information on these articles? I believe the consensus on Discord was that because tutorial island v2 was a test (confirmed by Shauny on reddit), we would have the images until the content is here to stay. Hi Battleben!

Because of your involvement with the wiki, you are eligible to vote on the candidates for the board of Weird Gloop, the company that hosts the RuneScape and Old School RuneScape wikis.

See meta:Weird Gloop elections/2019/Candidates for candidate presentations, and meta:Weird Gloop elections for how to vote – it'll take maybe 5 minutes.

There are 4 candidates for RuneScape, 4 candidates for OSRS, and 1 candidate for pt-RuneScape. If you'd like to influence who represents the voices of these communities inside the company, I strongly encourage you to vote! You are one of only 204 people that meet the requirements, and this is a chance to help shape the future of the wikis.

On various cache-related articles[edit source]

Given that you're really good at digging to the game's cache and finding some really obscure stuff, I figured you'd be the best person to turn to for help. Basically, I would like to create new articles for the Wiki, utilizing information obtained from the Cache. However, I do not know how to actually do it myself, so I would like to request your help for it.

Zaros mjolnir (7804) - While the item has by now been replaced with "Picture", the item still has the examine text describing the item as a Zaros Mjolnir. Looking through the Wiki's history, this item's existence has been known for a long time from previous cache downloads, so it should be possible to make an article for it. Furthermore, searching for Zaros mjolnir leads to "Nonexistence" despite the fact that a Zaros mjolnir did in fact exist.

Astral tiara (9106) - Unlike Zaros mjolnir, Astral tiara still exists in the game's code.

Various unused NPCs from Battle of Lumbridge - While articles for the characters exist, they don't, for some reason, have any NPC boxes, that would contain information that'd be relevant about them, such as examine texts. I'd imagine you would be able to dig up that information from the cache, right?

Kalphite ranged armour (25816-25820) - These are relatively speaking on the more recent side of additions to the list of "Items only present in the game's code", but they would nevertheless be an interesting addition to the Wiki. Furthermore, there is a picture of the full armour set (see below), and players have mentioned that the armour was meant to be Tier 50 armour set.

I noticed you updated various images for The Curse of Arrav. Thanks! However, I believe that at least File:Arrav_plans4.png's previous version was better, as it was taken without stretching and at higher graphics settings judging by the lighting quality. The stretching tends to happen during quest cutscenes unless the window's aspect ratio matches perfectly with somekind of hardcoded value. Re: Trade Octagon minigame[edit source]

I was pretty surprised to get this question after all these years, but I'll do my best to come up with some sort of answer! Unfortunately, so much time has passed that I don't remember the finer details of the timeline on this. I see Keldagrim was added to the game in May 2005, but my sense is that the symbol appeared at some point after that (although I wouldn't say that with 100% certainty). I used to take a lot of screenshots when I was playing, and I actually have one that, according to its metadata, was taken on April 21st of 2007. In that screenshot the minigame symbol doesn't appear on the minimap, so that would lead me to believe the symbol had already been removed prior to that date (and prior to the edits of mine that you referenced from July of 2007). As an aside, that also makes me think that the screenshot of the Trade Octagon with the symbol from the leaks page was a later reconstruction since the original version of the image wasn't uploaded until 2010 and was taken in RuneScape HD (released in 2008). I vaguely remember reading the thread (or threads) where the Jagex moderator mentioned the symbol and its removal, but unfortunately I don't seem to have a copy of it (I didn't understand citations back then, so I didn't make much of an effort to document where I was getting info from). So I guess that leaves us with a tentative window of the icon having been added and removed sometime between May 2005 and April 2007, which isn't all that specific...unless it was actually added and removed between April and July of 2007. Argh. Sorry I can't seem to come up with a more solid timeline. Best of luck in your research! Hopefully more details are floating out there somewhere. Quest.png Morian Smith Saradomin crozier.png

Thanks for sharing all of that info with me! I was a huge fan of Keldagrim back then and was always curious about what Jagex had been planning with that icon. Unfortunately 2005 was back before I started editing the Wiki and regularly taking screenshots, so my files from back then are pretty few and far between. Based on what you shared with me just now I did refine my search a little more and was able to find a Microsoft Word copy of what I believe was an old RuneScape Forum post I made – the file metadata places the last modified date at July 9th, 2006. In my words from the post: "A while ago, there was a mini-game symbol in the trade octagon, located on the second floor of the consortium building." I know this is hardly rock-solid evidence, but I'd say it does lend even more weight to the idea that the icon was present at some point in 2005 or maybe early 2006 at the latest. Anyway, I appreciate you reaching out and I'm glad I could be of some small help. Quest.png Morian Smith Saradomin crozier.png

Do you have any old computers you played RuneScape on?[edit source]

Hi Battleben!

Recently we've been trying to recover lost versions of RuneScape that Jagex didn't save. We're asking anybody who played from 2001-2012 to check old computers, laptops, hard drives, or backups for old RuneScape files.

Your userpage says you've been playing since 2005, so it's very likely that you have one of the missing versions. It would be great if you could search any old devices you may have so that these older versions of RuneScape aren't lost forever.

If you have any questions, feel free to join our Discord which shows the specific files we are looking for in full detail, and where people can help guide you through the search. Alternatively you can read our page on the Lost Media Wiki, and leave a message on my talk page.

RE:Sawmill[edit source]

Although the original idea I made the changes was to request to "merge" the page of Lumber Yard and sawmill and oppose it, I found that there is some information about original service provided by Bill the sawmill operator(NPC ID=4250) lost because the page of sawmill operator transform to a page reflecting the recent info of in-game NPC.

Secondly, comparing to the pages from OSRS wiki and RSC wiki. Lumber Yard is just a place likes Workshop in Fort Forinthry and the sawmill is one of the facility of the Lumber Yard providing service to convert logs into planks, likes sawmill in workshop.

Thirdly, the release timeline is:

  1. 28 July 2003 - Lumber Yard
  2. 31 May 2006 - Sawmill operator
  3. 23 September 2009 - Sawmill training

"Lumber Yard" was release with Gertrude's Cat quest originally. It was just a place for one quest and served no other purpose. "Sawmill" is a place to process the logs and the meaning of the word "sawmill" is more specific than "lumber yard", which "lumber yard" stores logs but "sawmill" does not.

"Sawmill training" sounds more likes a article describing a training method that was happened in "sawmill", rather than a place, an area, a facility, or representative location.

Lastly, I am not sure plank maker is a relevant thing when we discuss this topic.
