Re: Why[edit source]
I'm not. The interactive scenery pages that I'm working on needed the infobox, and therefore had no section to put the examine in the first place. The pages had no examine info in the first place. I'm not actually putting them as "unknown", it's just the default until someone actually adds the examine info in. It also adds the category "Needs examine added" to the page, to make it known that they need the examine added. 20:43, October 22, 2013 (UTC)
This I see. Thanks for telling me. Neutralino (talk) 01:45, October 23, 2013 (UTC)

Airuts mmg[edit source]
Airuts are something I had already discussed with cook. The expected profit is kinda "meh" when considering the requirements. We made an estimate of 1m/hour or something. That said, there's no opposition to having a money making guide for them, but with the lack of any outspoken demand, there's no real inclination either. If you think it's something that would benefit from having an article, I'd be more than happy to actually write it.
I was able to manage 110 kills per hour. This was using dual-wield drygore maces and overloads, soulsplit for healing, a yak for banking bones, and high alchemy for the rune drops. I didn't find myself using any real strategy in combat, just kinda killing them the way I'd kill most anything else. If you can do any better than 110, that'd certainly help me if the guide does end up getting written. MolMan 13:20, January 17, 2014 (UTC)
- Cool. The goal is to beat 110. If you can, you should be the one to describe the strategy in the guide (or describe it to me for the guide). If you can't I can just write it my way using 110 as the kph for calculations. MolMan 20:27, January 17, 2014 (UTC)
- 2.81m - what the hell? Okay, I'm going to ignore the scale and say 2.31m. If that's average, that's well over 3m an hour. Were there any other high quality drops you got? Or was everything else just their normal loot? MolMan 21:34, January 23, 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah definitely, but unless the drop rate is exactly 1/81, I don't want to include it in the calculation just yet. It may be a while still for the mmg, because we have no good and solid estimation of the average value of a kill. If you wanna do even more, you could log a whole bunch of kills. Kill speed doesn't matter in this task, just a list of drops. MolMan 21:48, January 23, 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguations[edit source]
Not a big deal, but if you can give a disambiguation the actual title (i.e. no "(disambiguation)"), then you definitely should. In this case, Tiny was originally only a redirect, which would have been perfectly fine for you to overwrite for the disambiguation. MolMan 13:47, March 21, 2014 (UTC)

Re: World Gorger's Stun Immunity[edit source]
"Stun immune" is a permanent state a monster has; and the combat overlay always has a specific "not stunnable" icon if it is the case. This boss does not. Either it should be stunnable, or it shouldn't be and it's missing the icon. Both cases I would call a glitch and should be reported, once fixed we know which way is the proper one for the infobox.
In short, unlike poison immunity, stun immunity is supposedly well defined by a state/icon a monster does (not) have. I say it is best to stick to that indication for our infoboxes. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 03:59, April 19, 2014 (UTC)

RE[edit source]
You should avoid anything that is extremely derivative or obvious. Pneck was fairly close to the original term that I felt it unnecessary. I was really just batch deleting a handful of ridiculous ones (many being used by literally no one ever). You can add it back if you think it's helpful; but, honestly, simple AKAs aren't something to worry about. As for what should go in an AKA: something that would make sense that a user couldn't figure out for themselves. "Drag dagger" is obvious and pretty redundant, but "dds" can be helpful. There also doesn't necessarily need to be anything in an AKA. Add them when you feel one is truly helpful and and it's widely used, but don't be grasping at straws. As a far fetched example, "PN" would be stupid, because who even refers to this item as that?
Honestly, "pneck" is borderline and I can't care either way if it goes or not. It just happened to get caught in my tide of edits. I figured I'd use this opportunity to explain my full thoughts on this matter though. You should feel great honor being able to delve yourself in the wonder that is my writing. RE[edit source]
There's a difference between an actual passive effect and an item being able to do something. For example, every pocket slot item. That's not actually a passive effect. It requires more discretion than just saying "this item does stuff". The term isn't an official one, judging by who created the page and when. We're kinda making our own definition; if we do, it shouldn't be so loose. We can't jump at every item that does something unique and call it passive. The definition should be redefined, because it's hard to even argue what exactly is or isn't. But I'll tell you why I don't think each of these things should be considered:
- Aggression items: These don't actually affect what you can do. They only remove aggression from particular monsters. That's a bit on the edge, and it's not particularly relevant.
- Ancient ceremonial robes: These act like a key more than anything, that's hardly a passive/set effect.
- XP sets: Completely different class of items. I can't necessarily argue it doesn't belong, but it's much more practical for us to keep the terms distinct. Anyone who needs info on them can find them on the proper page.
- Pocket slot items: They pick stuff up. Again, I'd rather keep this distinct. As for the wrench, it was never considered one before, but it becomes equipable and suddenly it qualifies? Same for all the other items. It's not making of sense.
The most important thing is keeping the page useful. Stuffing every thing that does things on there overloads the page with filler information. That makes it hard, again, to even tell what "passive effect" means. I'd go so far as to say it should only apply to combat really. MolMan 02:10, July 9, 2014 (UTC)

- Thanks, not sure why'd you reply if the question was directed at me, but okay. To add to the reply: the aforementioned YG decision was based on the fact that it's "life points" when you hover over the LP bar, and in the Constitution skill guide as well. However, it's also worth noting that there are a few exceptions to this in examine texts and tooltips. "Life points" prevails though. 5-x (Talk) 21:42, February 25, 2015 (UTC)

“ | In-game Learn tab says he specs after missing too many times | ” |
I'm not going to say anything about that particular attack because I'm not actually sure, but in general (and this may sound contrary to everything you've been told on wiki), you shouldn't cite the in game beasts tab. There's a lot of wrong info in there, so it's actually a surprise they let it pass. You should really take the in game strategies with a grain of salt, and definitely find time to test any claim it makes. MolMan 23:49, May 18, 2015 (UTC)
- It would be truncated. Vorago's hit is probably dealt with different. My guess is that the 50,000 damage is done as an integer and then cast over to a short for dealing the hit. MolMan 17:12, May 23, 2015 (UTC)

Take an Orb of Oculus to Port Tyras and use it move your camera west. Instead of seeing the Lost Grove, you will find Soul Wars, still in its old location. Using a talisman indicates that the Lost Grove is actually northwest of the main map. I probably didn't explain it very well, but basically: The Lost Grove isn't actually where the world map shows it to be. RE: Decimal Damage[edit source]
It truncates them when displaying them, but it does matter when you combine several items (e.g. an amulet of glory is +26 and a ring of fortune is +13, but combined its +40 since they're actually +26.7 and +13.9); over a full set of equipment it can be a good few 'free' damage points. This actually applies to all damage bonuses (including weapon damage), and all armour values.
All the full values are in the game cache. I'm planning to write a bot that updates this on all equipment pages soon; and going forward infobox bonuses should all contain the unrounded values too. Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 16:24, 4 December 2018 (UTC)

RE: Nonsusceptibility to debuff spells[edit source]
I have had that raised before, and I think it would be good to include in the infobox - probably as part of the immunities section, since those are the opposite of susceptibilities/weaknesses. (It doesn't really make sense to me to include a no-curse symbol in the susceptibility section.) The main thing is:
- Is it related to any of the other immunities (maybe drain or stun/bind immunity), or is it something completely separate? Are the different spells treated separately?
- Where do we add such a symbol? Maybe a new section of 'other immunities', I suppose, but there's still not a lot of space for it (and there isn't really anything else going into an 'other' right now).
- Do we have a (kinda) comprehensive list of monsters that are immune to curses?
We still need to actually apply the latest updates to the infobox over the entire bestiary, so no rush on adding new things lol. Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 20:24, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
- I changed the ticks/Xs to words because it was confusing and a little too unclear about what it meant, especially when the symbols has the no-sign on them as well; with words it is very clear. The new symbols definitely make words a little less necessary, but even then it could be "
, they are immune to poison" or "
, you can poison this creature". Words are explicit and there is no confusion.

It said that the NPC transcripts are missing as the reasoning for being incomplete. This wasn't true as the NPC transcripts are not missing; they're just on the respective NPC transcript pages. I added some reasoning why they don't belong in Glacor Front transcript in Transcript talk:Glacor Front. Thingummywut (talk) 23:00, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
- That is a fair point, and could be solved by transcluding individual NPC transcript sections to wherever you want to collate them. Last time I checked, section transclusion was technically iffy for us, though. Other option is to have sections in Glacor Front transcript with links to the NPC transcripts like we have for some in Nodon Front transcript. In any case, I would really like to be able to find the dialogue that happens when I decide to talk with Charos on Charos's dialogue article. Thingummywut (talk) 08:41, 2 September 2021 (UTC)

Tiers of godhood[edit source]
While this is obviously not a fully official statement, this comment on reddit by Mod Jack is a pretty clear indication of the sentiment of the person being de facto in charge of the narrative/lore direction and the rest of the team. It has also been brought up a number of times in discussions in the lore channels on official RS discord, although finding exact statements might prove more tricky in this case. There is a lot of thing that mods said out of game about lore in the early RS3 days that is no longer accurate or at very least they no longer feel beholden to it as it doesn't fit their current views and plans. As Mod Jack said, tiers of godhood are tricky to retcon, because technically there haven't really been introduced into the game, aside from one direct reference in Dishonour among Thieves post-quest dialogue, and even then it's referenced as old and crude system. Additionally the exact tiers and indication of which god belongs to each never appeared in the game and given the recent statments from Mod Jack & co. it's clear it's not only not something they are going to reference again, but that they are likely to directly contradict. Given those circumstances I don't really feel we should add even more references to this system, because we know new lore isn't written with it in mind and I personally don't feel that the mentions of tiers I removed from the Elder Gods article are add any valuable information - if anything, they perpetuate the misconception people have about the tiers (as seen in the linked reddit post) because they assume that if it's on the wiki, it's probably true. This is also part of a larger issue we have been discussing a bit lately, which is trying to separate out of game lore coming from the mods, especially pretty dated one which can't even be easily verified anymore, from the actual lore coming from the game. A lot of the things that mods said in the past referenced only their thinking at the time which isn't necessary the same after many years and a few mods said repeatedly that until something is stated in the game we shouldn't consider it canon. With all that in mind, adding new references to tiers seems redundant at best and highly speculative at worst. We don't even know what tiers the gods are currently at, given recent events like Saradomin losing the crown or thm siphoning the eggs, so using the tiers that were given years and years ago out of the game doesn't feel particularly justified either way. Do you have any old computers you played RuneScape on?[edit source]
Hi Neutralino!
Recently we've been trying to recover lost versions of RuneScape that Jagex didn't save. We're asking anybody who played from 2001-2012 to check old computers, laptops, hard drives, or backups for old RuneScape files.
Your userpage says you've been playing since 2009, so it's very likely that you have one of the missing versions. It would be great if you could search any old devices you may have so that these older versions of RuneScape aren't lost forever.
If you have any questions, feel free to join our Discord which shows the specific files we are looking for in full detail, and where people can help guide you through the search. Alternatively you can read our page on the Lost Media Wiki, and leave a message on my talk page.

Rather than re-revert, would you mind at least removing "implying it's young" as there's no basis on that? I'd be fine leaving it with declaring a size difference because that's just exaggeration from a storytelling perspective but to say that is speculation. Coelacanth0794 Talk
