Britain

Britain was removed after an update. The contents of this page no longer exist in RuneScape, and this article is kept for historical purposes.

Britain was the home plane of King Arthur, the Knights of the Round Table, Merlin, the Lady of the Lake, Morgan Le Faye, and Sir Mordred until it was retconned to be Teragard. It contained a territory known as England and was home to a people known as the Britons. Merlin was imprisoned in a crystal in that realm by Morgan Le Faye. The Holy Grail was not a British relic, but King Arthur, who legend says was king of Britain at the time, was often associated with searching for it. Arthur and his knights were said to return to the realm one day when they are needed most, but as that time has not come to pass, they are content to pass the time on Gielinor.

• patch 7 May 2024 (Update):
  • In-character references to Britain and England (in King Arthur's dialogue and his Varrock museum exhibit) now refer to Teragard, the home world of humans.

Trivia

• The legend claiming King Arthur will return to Britain in its time of greatest need is a reference to the real life mythological idea of King Arthur's messianic return.
