Gus is a ghoul that has been hired by Hetty, an old witch in Rimmington, to deliver some goods to her. According to Hetty, he has unusually high mental capacities for a ghoul, and he works for a company called Numinous Witchery Supplies Ltd. He is involved in the quest Swept Away and is afraid of newts.

He is found in Hetty's basement, puzzling over what to do. During the quest, Gus explains that he mixed up the labels for the crates in the basement, and he asks for help to sort his crates by toads, newts, and both. When they have been put in the correct order, Gus requires no more help.

• Gus is currently the only ghoul in the game who is named.
• Gus did not receive a graphical update along with other ghouls on 11 April 2016.
• 'Gus' is a reference to P.G. Wodehouse's series of stories about Jeeves and Wooster, where a character called 'Gussie' is a newt fanatic.
